The stars and cars of the Street Stock division will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (June 2) as they compete in a 50-lap championship race. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first qualifying event set for 6:00 p.m.
Street Stock racing at the third mile paved oval has been hard fought this season and Saturday night’s double distance main event is expected to offer nothing less. Leading the way will be defending champion and current point leader Howie Conk of Jackson, but he is expected to see stiff competition from recent winner Nick Shaw of Chatham, Beachwood’s Bill Vanderveen, Mike Tillett of Bayville and Keansburg’s Jerry Stanzione, just to name a few. Current plans call for time trials to be used to set the starting field.
The open wheel Modifieds will also be on the card in a 40-lap main event, while the Factory Stocks and the Sportsman cars will also each compete in a 25-lap main event. The Legend Cars will have the night off.
Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. and the regular practice will be up at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event will take the green flag at 6:00 p.m. Feature racing will follow
Saturday night will also mark the first event in the track’s “Kids’ Big Wheel” races to be held during the evening. Kids are asked to bring their favorite “Big Wheel” style bikes and parents are urged to call the speedway office for more information
