NASCAR Racing at Spencer Speedway last Friday, June 1, was dampened by an all day rain that fell in the Rochester , NY region. This was the first rain out of the 2012 season at Spencer.
Currently there is a point tie at the top of the Sunoco Modified standings between last year’s champion Kevin Timmerman and Owego’s Tony Hanbury. This tie will stand until June 15, when the Sunoco Modified return to the speedway.
This Friday, June 8 the RoC Modifieds return to Spencer for their only appearance at the half mile oval in 2012. Kyle Ebersole, from Hummelstown , PA , has won the first two RoC races; at Shangri La II and Oswego and currently leads the series points race.
Chuck Hossfeld, who has won the last two 75-lap RoC races at Spencer, currently sits sixth in RoC points. A good field of RoC Modifieds is expected. Also on the race card is an open show for the Super Stocks, plus Super Sixes, Auto Value Scorpions and INEX Legends cars. Race time is set for 7:30 p.m.
Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASC AR Place to Race” for Central New York . Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Points.
