Round #3 of the Mountain Madness Enduro Series kick off Sunday at Mountain Speedway. The INEX Legends were also on the card, and the division had a nice showing of support at the 1/3-mile asphalt oval. With rain playing a factor for most of the event, Bill Schwenck of New Jersey stormed to his first career victory in the 6/8-Cylinder enduro and Tony Rispin continued in his winning ways, as he won the 4-Cylinder enduro by two laps. Matt Pappa never lost an INEX Legends heat or feature race at the track and with his win on Sunday, his streak continues.

TJ Kapish started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 100-lap 6/8-Cylinder endro over Bill Schwenck, Don Carasiti, Scott Riggleman and Steve Tito. With six laps complete, Riggleman climbed to third and then four laps later he overtook Schwenck for second.

With Kapish still in command, the skies blackened and rain began to fall on the speedway. Schwenck, who has a front wheel drive car, closed the margin between himself and Kapish and he eventually overtook the leader on lap 37.

With heavy rain still falling at halfway, Schwenck continued to lead over Kapish, Carasiti, Riggleman and Ed Nrown, Jr.

Although the rain lifted for the finish of the race, no one had anything for the leader, as he ran off with his first career victory. Kapish settled for second, followed by Riggleman, Carasiti and Brown.

Art Kulik started from the pole and led the opening circuit of the 100-lap Four Cylinder enduro over Joe Henitzelman, Scott Adams, Mike Harding and Vance Williams.

Heintzelman battled by Adams and then took the lead for Kulik on the second lap, but his lead was short-lived, as Adams took command before the lap was complete. Heintzelman fought back to lead lap number four and then Adams regained the lead on the next go-around.

Slowly but surely, Tony Rispin climbed toward the top five and raced in second behind Adams at halfway. Heintzelman maintained third, with Harding and Ken Harper in tow.

For the second half of the race only Adams and Rispin were on the lead lap. Rispin closed the gap between himself and the leader and the duo raced side-by-side for the lead. While trying to take back the top spot, something broke on Adams’ car on lap 82, forcing him out of the race.

With two laps on the field, Rispin continued on to pick up the victory. Harper fought his way to a second place finish and Heintzelman, Harding and Larry Spencer III completed the top five.

Scott Hubler started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 20-lap INEX Legends feature over Dusty Summers, Van Michael, Brendon Bock and Brandon Michael.

Matt Pappa overtook Todd McCollum for the fourth position on the third lap and then raced by Summers for second on lap four. He then chased down Hubler for the lead and Hubler did everything that he could to hold off the charge by Pappa.

Pappa finally gained the top spot on lap eight before a lap nine yellow flag waved when Kevin Nowak spun off the bumper of Bock. Green flag racing resumed, but another yellow flew when V. Michael and Summers tangled in turn four.

Pappa continued to lead just past halfway and McCollum had climbed to second. Brad Lowmaster held third, followed by Bock and V. Michael.

McCollum had nothing for the leader in the closing laps and Pappa went on to the victory, staying undefeated at the speedway. McCollum settled for second, followed by Bock, Lowmaster and Summers.

Heat race victories went to Kevin Nowak and Matt Pappa.
