A special “All-Star Champ Kart” race, featuring some of Wall Stadium’s favorite Saturday night drivers in Champ Karts that race during the track’s Sunday Series, has been added to the Saturday night line-up at Wall Stadium. The special event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first qualifying event set for 6:00 p.m. Feature racing is set for 7:00 p.m.

Modified driver Harry Schaeffer will be at the wheel of the Neal Gall No. 82, while Modified car owner Chris Hamilton will drive the Roger Nickerson No. 88. Modified standout Chas Okerson will also see action, as will Sportsman standout Kevin Davison. Street Stock speedster Nick Shaw will drive the Chris Gall No. 81 and former Street Stock standout Charlie DiGiantamasso will pilot the Matt Urbine No. 99. Legend Cars favorite Bobby Baltero is expected to drive the Roger Nickerson No. 88. More drivers are expected to join the Champ Kart field for this special race.

The stars and cars of the Legend Cars division will also be in the spotlight Saturday as they compete in Twin 25 lap main events on Saturday evening.

Legend Cars racing at the third mile paved oval has been hard fought this season and Saturday night’s double main events are expected to offer nothing less. Leading the way will be defending champion and current point leader Derek Hopkinson of Toms River, but he is expected to see stiff competition from brothers Trevor and Zack Alspach, both of Willingboro, Howell’s Robert French and Rob Hyer of South Amboy, just to name a few. Current plans call for time trials to be used to set the starting field.

The open wheel Modifieds will also be on the card in a 40-lap main event, while the Sportsman cars will compete in a 30-lap feature and the Street Stocks will race in a 25-lapper. The Factory Stocks will have the night off.

Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. and the regular practice will be up at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event will take the green flag at 6:00 p.m. Feature racing will follow.

Saturday night will also mark the second event in the track’s “Kids’ Big Wheel” races. Kids are asked to bring their favorite “Big Wheel” style bikes and parents are urged to call the speedway office for more information

On Friday evening starting at 5:00 p.m., a free to the public custom car show is scheduled to run until dark. A highlight of the evening is when the custom cars in attendance have the opportunity to take paced laps around the famous high-banked speedway.

Wall Stadium Speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
