There are only 10 laps left unsold (minimum $50) for the 125-lap Tour-Type Modified Open at Star on June 16. The money gets split between the leader and another top ten car by draw. I expect them to sell out by Saturday night. If you would like to help fill the board and support Modified racing, or add extra money to any lap, now is the time. The laps are posted on the main page of the site: www.star-speedway.com, or you can email: StarPress2012@aol.com. Once these 10 laps are sold, two race fan donations will add another $2,000 to the base purse, bringing the total payoff to nearly $40,000. Teams willing to wait for us to figure the lap money and bonuses will get paid in full on race night. One check comes from the track for the base purse payoff, and the other from the bonus money awards which are posted fully at the track and in parts online.
The entry deadline for racers is this Saturday night June 9 at Midnight, allowing last minute entries from both Star and Seekonk. The full early entry list will be made available on Monday's Speedway Line Race Report, and many other places thereafter, including The Chrome Horn.
