The top two drivers in the Sport Modified division fought it out to the drop of the checkers Saturday night at Mountain Speedway and when it was all said and done, Jason Hearne of New Egypt, NJ took the victory over Dave Brigati. Kyle Harvell of New York, NY stayed smooth and consistent to snag his first Late Model feature win of the season and after several seasons of trying, Keith Frankenfield of Easton, PA notched his first career Factory Stock victory. Scott Hubler of Coplay, PA took home his first INEX Legends victory of the season and Jeff Kot of Doylestown, PA took top honors in TQ Midget action. Following a tangle with Nick Harnage with a lap remaining, Alex McCollum went to victory lane in the INEX Bandolero division.
Scott Adams started from the pole position in the 40-lap Sport Modified main event and led the opening circuit over Paul Frantz, Jason Hearne, Robert Fink and Dave Brigati. As the early laps clicked off, Adams began to pull away from Frantz, who was heavily pressured for second by Hearne.
Nick Pecko cracked the top five on the second circuit when he overtook Fink for the fifth spot and three laps later, Hearne completed the pass on Frantz for second and Brigati followed to third.
With 10 laps complete, Adams continued to have the advantage over Hearne and Brigati, but the gap closed between them when the yellow flag waved when Mike Kline’s car came to a stop on the backstretch on lap 18. Adams held off Hearne on the restart, but when Adams’ car pushed up the track on lap 19, Hearne took advantage and grabbed the lead. Brigati got by Adams for second on the next go-around and seized second.
Two more quick cautions slowed the event on laps 20 and 25 before the top pair raced hard to the finish. Brigati looked to the inside and outside of the leader on several occasions, but Hearne held a good line to be sure that Brigati couldn’t attempt a pass on the bottom of the speedway. Meanwhile, Pecko pressured Adams for third, but couldn’t capitalize.
Hearne held on to take his second victory of the season and extended his points lead over runner-up, Brigati. Adams finished with a season-best third, followed by Pecko and Frantz.
Heat race victories went to Dave Brigati and Jason Hearne.
Following Formula One type qualifying for the Late Models, Austin Kochenash turned the quickest lap and started from the pole position in the 30-lap feature. He led the first circuit over Kyle Harvell and Travis Fisher. Randell Burnett, who is the car chief for Jamie McMurray in the Sprint Cup Series held fourth, followed by Stone Phillips.
Burnett overtook Fisher for third following the first lap and then tried to chase down Harvell. Meanwhile, Kochenash began to open up a gap over the rest of the field.
As the leader tried to put a lap on Mark Tyson in turn one, Tyson’s car slid up the track got into the leader. The turn of events moved Harvell to the top spot.
Green flag racing resumed and a slew of yellows involving Kochenash and Fisher waved before the remaining eight laps of action. Despite some pressure from Burnett in the early going, Harvell drove off to take his first victory of the season over Burnett, Fisher, Kochenash and Phillips.
Kendall Foulk started from the pole position and was overtaken for the lead by Trevor Ahouse on the opening circuit of the 20-lap Factory Stock feature before the yellow flag waved when Dan Pawlicki got into Foulk before a lap was scored.
When green flag racing resumed, Ahouse was first, with Keith Frankenfield, Rich Paciotti, Mark Martini and Kenny Kleppinger in tow.
Frankenfield grabbed the top spot on the second lap and Paciotti climbed to second and then battled with the leader to take command and lead the second lap. The pair raced hard and eventually tangled, brining out the caution on lap four. With nowhere to go, Eric Banashefski was collected and forced to retire from the race. The change of events gave the lead to Martini.
With five laps remaining, Martini led over Pawlicki. Paciotti had climbed back to third, followed by Kleppinger and Paciotti, but the race began to change again when Pawlicki spun and collected Stephanie Moyer with three laps remaining.
Frankenfield restarted in second behind Paciotti and with a nice restart he grabbed the lead. Despite a hrd drive by the points leader (Paciotti), Frankenfield pulled off the victory for his first career win. Paciotti finished in second, followed by Martini, Kleppinger and Ahouse.
Heat race wins went to Keith Frankenfield and Trevor Ahouse.
After winning their qualifiers, Jeff Kot and Matt Roselli shared the front row in the 25-lap TQ feature. Kot led the opening lap over Roselli, Robin Johnston, Austin Fehr and Buddy Sload.
Johnston overtook Roselli for second on lap seven and then set sail for the leader. Five laps later, Tidman, who had climbed into the top five, overtook Roselli for third.
Despite late race efforts by Johnston, Kot drove away with the victory. Johnston settled for second, followed by Tidman, Alison Cumens and Roselli.
Scott Hubler started form the pole and led the first lap of the 20-lap INEX Legends feature over Brad Lowmaster, Dane Schwartz, Steve Gual and Mitch Dowd. Lowmaster pressured Hubler for the early lead bfore the first and only yellow flag waved when Dowd and Butch Boyle tangled in turns one and two.
Hubler was flawless on the restarted and with Schwartz and Lowmaster battling for second in his mirror, drove off to notch his first victory of the season. Lowmaster finished in the second spot, with Schwartz, Sam Pickford and Gaul completing the top five.

Nick Harnage and Alex McCollum battled side by side for the majority of the 12-lap INEX Bandolero event before the two touched and spun each other out with one lap remaining. Harnage was forced to pit to close his roof hatch, which handed the lead over to McCollum, who led the last circuit and claimed his fifth victory of the season over Harnage and newcomer Evan Schwartz.
