Each driver will receive $300 for showing up. That is just like last year.

However, here's where some drivers/owners may decide to gamble the money away.

They may, if they so choose, to throw the money back into the gamblers pot. Then whatever driver gambles and has the best finish of the gamblers, all the money belongs to them.

So let's say Preece and TC are the only two to gamble. One of them will get $600 and the other one will get nothing.

If Preece, TC, Silk, Justin, Blewett, Lia, Szegedy, and one of the Solomitos gamble - then whoever has the highest finish from that group will take home $2400 and the rest of them will get nothing.

And if no one gambles, every one goes home with the $300

And remember to make it a race within a race, we have lap money , not only to the leader but also to the Top Riverhead regular. Sorry, TC and Ryan - you can not be considered Riverhead regulars! If a Riverhead regular happens to be leading the race, he will take home $20 each lap.

limodmaniac
07-08-2012, 02:53 PM
The races within the race.

1. The Tri Track ( Monadnock Tour, Star SBM, and Riverhead Tour) Short Track bonus - Looks like the $1500 winner take all, will belong to Ryan Preece, Doug Coby, Mike Stefanik, or Todd Szegedy. Preece has to finish 7th or better , and it's all his.

2. The Gamblers edition- Each Modifed Team gets $300 show money. If they wish to gamble it, and throw it back in the pot..., then it's a winner take all gamble. So let's just say that Bonsignore, Lia, Preece, TC, and Silk decide to gamble. Who ever has the top finish of those drivers, would take home a bonus of $1500. Thanks to Kevin Rice, Eric Sanderson and Bruce Bachta for their contributions.

3. Riverhead regulars - It takes a little extra just for the regulars to show up. So this is their reward. Whoever is the top running Riverhead regular each lap, takes home $10 per lap.. Could add up to a $1750 pay day at the end just for being the top Riverhead guy. Not exactly sure who is going to attempt to race, but the odds are on a couple of Solomitos, Brunnhoelzl and Brode. I have always separated a Tour driver and a Riverhead regular and stipulated that you can't be both ( ex. Justin last year, was never called a Riverhead regular.)

Also, I have always determined criteria based on the driver of the car,not the onwer ( though I have learned to pay the owner, no the driver!) So when we determine who is a Riverhead regular I base it on the driver not the owner.

And to be a Riverhead regular, you have to have made an attempt to qualify for 90 percent of the races this year.

4. And as long as there is a heat / consi race for the cars who don't get in on time, it's 25 laps for $1000 to win.

Still accepting donations to make things bigger and bigger! A $20 LAP DONATION WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!

Keep looking above for laps that are still available.

Also, looks like the 0 Modified of Ralph Solhem may be joining us for the Tour Race.

Thanks to Beth and Brian Williams for the Ed Flemke sponsorship and the Advanced Concrete Cutting for the same $300 sponsorship of Mike Stefanik.

Remember for $300, you cover the cost of sponsorship of one modified and your name goes on the car for the Riverhead Tour Race.

Thanks to Jeff Wagner, who I bumped into in the Canaan parking lot and handed me $100 for lap sponsorship.

Less than 2 weeks left until the Riverhead Tour Race.

Good interview with Stefanik posted on Speed 51 today. Sounds like the 66 team could skip Riverhead. It also sounded like this season may be the beginning of the end for Mr. Stefanik.

limodmaniac
07-17-2012, 06:34 AM
I read that also. But I'll go out on a limb here, and say there's no way Stefanik is missing the Riverhead race! Especially when he stands to take home 1500 from the Tri Track bonus, if Ryan has an off day at Riverhead.

Also, again thanks to the people who have donated $300 for a sponsorship of one of the Modifieds for the night.

Jim,
Quick question. You have "$8400+ ($300 to every driver, not including drivers who don't qualify!)"
But JAWS posted in his lap sponsors sheet:
"$300 TO EACH DRIVER THAT FAILS TO QUALIFY"
To avoid some confusion, do unqualified drivers get $300???

limodmaniac
07-23-2012, 07:11 AM
Sorry for any confusion. YES, ALL drivers get 300. The 8400 is the 28 cars that qualify, and the + is because we don't know how many others are coming. Just like last year, every one gets 300.

Last laps taken by Pete Sindone and uneedapart.com, bringing our final total to $4496.

Over 18,000 was raised.

Right now, it appears 29 cars are showing up. Meaning, only 1 car goes home. If that doesn't change, that unlucky car will receive an extra $300 from me.

congratulations on another banner year of fund raising this year. This brightens my day that Mod Racing is alive and well. I missed how I can get you some money this year because of a fire at my home and having to relocate, but please next year let everyone know how someone like myself (who lives in FLA) can send you some to get in on the action. Now if NASCAR would only see what you are doing and that it can be done. Now can anyone say advertising director of the WMT!!!! you are the person the Mods need to do this for every race!!!!!

Now that the initial depression is over, and the realization that we still have something to look forward to-

If anyone still wants to make a donation towards the race, instead of lap money, you might want to consider one of the following.

$300 to a particular driver - right now we have money for 30 cars to qualify. However, with the Sept. date, we may have a few extra Riverhead Regulars showing up now. So, every extra 300 bucks goes to a good cause. And your name on a modified!!!

If that's too steep, and you'd like to be part of the special tribute we are now doing for a certain driver ( feel free to send me a private message for more details - it's not a surprise but maybe by Sept. everyone will forget and it will be one.)

With the Whelen Tour Race at Riverhead being rescheduled to Sept 15, and with the expected added entry of Shawn Solomito to the race, THE TURN 2 CREW is proud to announce that their $300 donation will be going back where it was going to in the first place - the 66 team ( which of course may have to be renumbered because of Stefanik) - Will Linda Solomito be joining THE TURN 2 CREW again??

Also, rumor has it that Tommy Rogers will now be racing the Riverhead Tour Race as well. With that announcement , Charlotte E Purcell will put her sponsorship on the #9.

Tommy and Shawn, both front runner and hard chargers, will be in the hunt not only for the win, but also the leading Riverhead Regular lap money.

Will Bill Park be announcing soon that his 20 will also be entered in the upcoming Sept 15 race??

Ok, I need to do one final 50/50. Just need 30 people willing to give me $20 bucks. Winner gets 300 and the other 300 takes care of sponsorship on one modified at the Riverhead Tour race. I will be looking for your $20 at Seekonk Grand Prix Friday lunch time, Stafford Friday night,, and Riverhead Saturday. We will pull a 2nd ticket and that person will get their name on a modified for that night! Reserve your spot in the game on here if you'd like!

With the strong possibility of more Riverhead Regulars showing up for the race, now that it's in Sept., I'm trying to make sure that we will have enough money to give out to all drivers that show. Remember, for each modified that shows extra, it's $300 per car. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Also, again thanks to the people who have donated $300 or participated in the many 50/50 raffles for a sponsorship of one of the Modifieds for the night.
