In an effort to help make Sport Modified and Modified racing a little more affordable for the racers at Mountain Speedway, track Promoter, Joe Callavini has decided to enforce a tire rule for the upcoming extra distance events for the Modifieds and Sport Modifieds.

Drivers entered for the 75-lap cone race on Saturday, July 28 won’t be allowed to purchase more than four tires for the show, in which tire changes won’t be allowed unless the driver receives a flat during the race. The tires will be marked prior to time trials, which along with a redraw will set the starting field. Drivers must start the race on the tires that he or she qualified on.

Also on the card for the evening are the Street Stocks and Four Cylinders, which will each compete for double points, plus the Bandoleros are in action as well.

The same format will be used for the 75-lap Sport Modified cone race on Saturday, August 4. The Late Models, Factory Stocks, and Bandoleros are also on the card, plus the lightening fast ATQMRA Three Quarter Midget Racing Association drivers will be on hand for a show.

There isn’t any type of driver registration fee for both the Modified and Sport Modified racers for either of the 75-lap races and the grandstand admission prices will remain the same as they’ve been all season long.

Mountain Speedway is just minutes from Hazleton, Pa, located on St. John’s Road, between Routes 93 and 309. Grandstand admission for all regular events is just $12 for ages 11 and older. Children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free. Keep your eyes open for $2 admission discounts in the Hazleton Standard Speaker.
