Mahoning Valley Speedway’s huge end of the season show which is slated for Saturday, October 27 has officially been dubbed “Octoberfast 2012, Fright Night in the Valley.”

It will be the richest day of racing in the history of the track with nearly $50,000 in purse money. The day of racing will bring down the curtain on the 2012 season at the paved Lehighton quarter mile oval, which also ends the first year of promoting by Floyd Santee.

Highlighting the day will be a 130 lap open comp Modified race paying $5000 to win. Also on the ticket will be a $1500-to-win, 75 lap Late Model feature and a 100 lap Street Stock main that pays $1800 to the winner.

For the Modified event there will be 24 cars scheduled to take the green and while the winner of the prestigious race will earn $5000, second place will take home a very respectable $3000. Third place pays $2000, fourth gets $1600 and fifth will be paid $1200. The race pays $300 to take the green.

Also, if more than 35 cars are registered the track will run a B-main paying $1000 to win and $100 to take the green. The Late Model and Street Stock races are $200 to start.

Racing will start at 3:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 10:00 a.m. The rain date will be Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 p.m.

All three classes will be open comp with the exception for track tire rule which will be in effect. Street Stock and Late Model frame height is required. No mirrors or radios are allowed. There will be no changing of tires during race unless of a flat. Only green flag laps will be counted during the features.

The Modified entry fee is $50. Street Stock and Late Model entry fee is $25. Grandstand admission will be $25. Kids 10 years old and younger are free. Pits will be $40.

Aside from the all-star cast of Mahoning regulars, other drivers already committed include NASCAR Whelan Modified Tour regular Eric Beers and Ryan Preece.
