Dave Brigati of Calverton, NY took the lead on the fifth lap of the Sport Modified main event Saturday night at Mountain Speedway and stormed off to his sixth win of the season. Larry Fisher of Fern Glen took the checkers in Late Model action and is now tied with Richie Jenson for the all-time win record in the division and Rich Paciotti of Kunkletown scored his third Factory Stock win of the year. Scott Hubler of Coplay took top honors in the INEX Legends and Nick Harnage of Calverton, NY went to victory lane in the INEX Bandolero feature.

Tommy Wanick III led the Sport Modified field to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap main event. He led the opening lap over Dave Brigati, Jason Hearne, Nick Pecko and Paul Frantz.

Hearne stayed close to the rear bumper of Wanick as the early laps clicked off and then the yellow flag waved when something broke on Jim Bojohnny’s car, which sent him around in turns three and four.

Green flag racing resumed and Hearn got underneath Wanick for second. He began to reel in Brigati but the red flag waved when Cam Ayers cut down a tire and slammed the backstretch fence. Ayers appeared to be uninjured and climbed from his racecar under his own power.

With the green flag back out, Brigati began to distance himself from Hearne, who appeared to be the only challenger for the race leader. Brigati remained steady in the closing laps and took his sixth victory of the season over Hearne, Wanick, Pecko and Frantz.

Heat race wins went to Jason Hearne and Dave Brigati.

Time trials set the field and the drivers started heads up for the 30-lap Late Model feature. After laying down a blistering lap, Larry Fisher started from the pole.

Untouchable through the caution-free event, Fisher went on to score the victory, which was his second of the season and also his 26th career victory in the division. The feat tied Fisher with Richie Jensen on the all-time Late Model win list.

Points leader, Kyle Harvell, settled for second, followed by Roger Oxee, Stone Phillips and Mark Tyson.

Rich Paciotti turned the quickest Factory Stock lap and started from the point in the 20-lap shootout. He led the first circuit over Dan Pawlicki, Mark Martini, Matt Mattern, Jr. and Kendall Foulk.

As Paciotti began to distance himself from second, Martini battled hard with Pawlicki for second. With four laps remaining, Martini made the pass for second stick. He reeled in the leader, but ran out of time and laps to attempt any race-winning move.

Paciotti, who is also the points leader, went on to take the victory, which was his third of the season. Martini settled for second, followed by Pawlicki and Foulk.
