LEGEND CARS 40-LAPPER AND FACTORY STOCK TWIN 25’S HEADLINE THIS SATURDAY (SEPT. 15) AT WALL STADIUM

After heavy storms washed out the professional auto racing card scheduled for last Saturday evening, Wall Stadium Speedway will return to action this Saturday night (Sept. 15) featuring the Legends Cars in a 40-lap championship event and the Factory Stocks in Twin 25 lap feature races that could have a gigantic effect of the season long championship race. Grandstand seating is set to open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and main events at 7:00 p.m.

The INEX Legend Cars feature some of the most talented drivers in the country. 2011 champion and current point leader Derek Hopkinson of Toms River will be a driver to watch, as will brothers Trevor and Zach Alspach, both of Willingboro. Robert French of Howell, Malcolm Campbell of Eatontown and Mike Alcaro of Newton are also among those expected to compete. The Legend Cars 40-lapper is 15 laps longer than their regular main event distance and is being presented after being rained out last Saturday evening.

The pair of 25-lap features for the popular Factory Stocks should also offer plenty of action for the fans. Scott Riggleman of Manchester is the current point leader in the division, but is being chased by Brick’s Ronnie Mullen, Jim Downey of Cliffwood Beach, Andrew Krause of Holmdel and Steve Michel, just to name a few. These twin races were originally set for this date.

In addition, the open cockpit TQ Midgets, Sportsman racers, Street Stocks, Four Cylinder cars and the Sunday Series Microstocks are also on the card. Fans are also advised that a food drive supporting both Monmouth and Ocean County food banks continues Saturday.

Pit gates are set to open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:30 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event takes the green flag at 6:00 p.m. Main events are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400, while CKMotorsports@aol.com is the track’s email address. More information is also available at www.wallspeedwayracing.com.

WALL STADIUM TO HOST FIANL “CRUISE NIGHT” THIS FRIDAY (SEPT. 14)

The final family friendly “Friday Night Cruise Night” of the season will be presented at Wall Stadium Speedway this Friday evening, September 14. The Shore Speedway has hosted these highly popular classic car events on the second Friday evening of each month through the summer months with gates opening at 5:00 p.m.

“Friday Night Cruise Nights” start at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free of charge for both car show participants and those who visit the speedway to admire the classic and custom cars. Just like last year, the speedway’s racecar drivers are invited to display their machines and meet with neighbors from the surrounding community during the Friday evenings.

Plans again call for all of the special cars to be parked in the large, paved pit area at the speedway. Food will be available from the speedway’s refreshment stands and participants will get the chance to cruise around Wall Stadium’s famous third mile high banked oval as the track’s pace vehicle will lead groups of cars around the track though out the evening. Music will set the cruise night mood.
