Following extended track clean ups under numerous yellow flags and following a delay for sun prior to the Modified main event Sunday at Mountain Speedway, Nick Pecko of Vandling extended his points lead and went on to take his third Modified victory. In his best season to date, Chip Wanamaker grabbed his eighth Street Stock Victory of the season and Pete Verwys of Stroudsburg stayed out of trouble to notch his second straight Four Cylinder victory. Matte Pappa of Nassau, NY remains undefeated following his eighth INEX Legends feature win and Nick Harnage of Calverton, NY, scored his 16th Bandolero victory.

Brian Sones started from the pole position and led the opening circuit in the 40-lap Modified main event over Brandon Oltra, Ken Vogel, Jr, John Beatty and Todd Baer. Bear got by Beatty for the fourth spot with one lap complete. Meanwhile, Oltra challenged Sones heavily for the top spot.

With Sones still in command, the first yellow flag flew on lap seven when Dave Brigati slid up high and came to a stop in the marbles in turn four. One lap following the restart, Vogel slid to the infield at the bottom of turn two. Another lap eight caution took place on the next restart when Vogel and John Markovic tangle on the front stretch.

Green flag racing resumed and Oltra stayed on the outside of race leader, Sones. The pair ran side-by-side for several laps and Oltra led lap 11 by a bumper and the Sones battled back to lead lap 12. Barry Callavini climbed to third on lap 14 and then overtook Oltra. He tried to make the pass on Sones for the lead and the pair touched, sending Sones into a spin in turn two.

With Oltra as the race leader for the restart, it appeared that the rookie might get his first victory, but that all went by the wayside when an apparent mechanical issue forced him up the track in turn four. Nick Pecko, who was running second at the time, took advance and moved into the lead on lap 29.

With 10 laps remaining, Pecko held the lead with Baer, Brigati, Beatty and Steven Reed in tow. Despite a restart following a quick yellow on lap 33, Pecko remained strong and earned his third victory of the season. Baer settled for second, followed by Brigati, Beatty and Reed.

Heat race victories went to John Beatty, Brandon Oltra and Ken Vogel, Jr.

After started from the pole position, Mary Tyson led the opening lap of the 25-lap Street Stock feature. Alan Schlenker ran second, followed by Chas Castiglione, Bernie Uphold and Sam Danaher.

Tony Hilliard Brought out the first yellow flag when he broke an axel on the third lap. With Tyson still in command, Castiglione climbed to second and Brian Wozniak cracked the top five and then quickly worked his way to third.

The yellow flag flew on lap five when Chris Burge and Joe D’Angelo crashed into each other hard in turn one and during the yellow flag, Wozniak’s car stalled and he was pushed into the pit area after a strong run early on.

Following the restart, Schlenker took command of the event and Tyson fell to second. Chip Wanamaker began to advance and then moved to fifth on the eight circuit. He climbed to fourth and then overtook Uphold for second on lap 10.

Wanamaker made his way to third and challenged Tyson for second. He got under Tyson in turn one on lap 19, but ran out of room. Tyson spun and was forced pit side after a terrific run.

Wanamaker overtook Schlenker for the lead following the restart and never looked back, as he cruised to his eighth win of the season over Schlenker. From out of nowhere, Kevin Higgins finished the evening with a solid third place run, followed by Castiglione, who had a career-best fourth place effort. Uphold completed the top five.

Heat race victories went to Alan Schlenker and Brian Wozniak.

Jay Skupski started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 20-lap Four Cylinder feature over John Smith, Noah Fassman, Larry Spencer III and Eric Banashefski.

Following a quick lap 2 yellow for a Frank Hughes spin, Banashefski battled the leader and led lap three by a bumper. Skupski however, retook the lead following a lap five restart.

Pete Verwys began to charge and after running side by side with Skupski for many laps, he led for the first time on lap 11. The pair swapped the top spot four more times before Verwys held on to take his second straight win. Skupski settled for second, followed by Fassman.

Hughes drilled Spencer in turn three on the final lap, which allowed Smith to scoot by to finish in fourth, followed by Tom Cavagnino.

Noah Fassman and Jay Skupski were heat race winners.

Mitch Dowd led the INEX Legends field to the drop of the green in the 20-lap event, but Brad Lowmaster took the lead after on lap was complete. Brendon Bock took his turn at the point after overtaking the leader on the second circuit.

Several yellows plagued the event and with 13 laps complete, Bock continued out front, followed by Matt Pappa, Lowmaster and Raven Schrantz.

Lap after lap, Pappa challenged Bock for the lead and finally completed the pass with two laps remaining. In his eight start at the speedway this season, Pappa drove away with the victory over Bock and Schrantz.

Heat race victories went to Matt Pappa, Dave Riopelle and Brandon Michael.
