ALL 2012 CHAMPS EXPECTED FOR SPOOKY SPECTACULAR STOCK CAR RACING AT WALL STADIUM THIS WEEKEND (OCTOBER 20 AND 21)
Every one of Wall Stadium Speedway’s 2012 stock car driving champions is expected to be on hand this weekend for the two-day “Spooky Spectacular” racing events at the Jersey Shore speedway. The event will feature all six of the speedway’s regular divisions plus two touring classes and a Demolition Derby. Current plans call for pit area gates to open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and grandstands to open at noon and action to start at 2:00 p.m. on both days.
Leading the action on Saturday (October 20) will be the Wall Modified cars competing in a 75 lap main event with two-time and newly crowned champion Anthony Sesely of Matawan leading the field, while the Sportsman cars will race in a 50 lapper with newly crowned champion Eric Mauriello of Howell expected to be a contender. The Street Stocks led by champion Nick Shaw of Chatham and the INEX Legend Cars with 2012 kingpin Derek Hopkinson of Toms River in the field will each compete in 30-lap main events on Saturday. Rounding out Saturday action will be the visiting Truck Series in a 30-lap main event and the touring TQ Midgets in a 25-lap feature race.
On Sunday (October 21), The Factory Stocks with 2012 champion Scott Riggleman of Manchester leading the way and the 4 Cylinder cars with Brien Crosby of Wall, the 2012 champ out front, will each race in a 50-lap main event, while the mechanics in the pit area will also see action in a special Mechanic’s Race. Sunday action will be topped off by the first Demolition Derby to be presented at the oval in over a decade.
Spectator seating will open at noon on both Saturday and Sunday, with the first qualifying event will starting at 2:00 p.m.
Once this weekend is in the books, all attention will turn towards the annual Turkey Derby on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend during the daylight hours.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
