Don't cheat yourself. You gotta throw in a Lancaster race and the Seekonk Open should be an automatic.

That Aug date can't be right. The WMT is going to run a Thursday show 6 days before a Wednesday Bristol event?? They normally run the week before (Aug 8th). That schedule does leave the Sept Richmond weekend open though, ha ha.

That's what they did in 2009 and 2010. The only thing with 2009 was Thompson was rained out on that Thursday night and was run after they got back from Bristol.
2009 and 2010 went Riverhead Saturday, Stafford Friday, Thompson Thursday, Bristol Wednesday. 4 straight weeks with only 6 days between each event. I remember that was the killer stretch for those 2 seasons. The past few years they have backed away from that a little bit.

“Modified fans are some of the most passionate in motorsports,” said George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president, regional and touring series. “The 2013 calendar will give them plenty of opportunities to enjoy the stars, cars, and the tremendous excitement of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.”

2 to 3 weeks between all the races except Thompson & Bristol, just 6 days with one for travel & another for inspection, not much time to reconfigure the car to Bristol specs & you better not have any problems @ Thompson.
What Were They Thinking??????????????

The schedule has been like that before. Teams have more than one car, so the Bristol car is getting prepped during the weeks before the Bristol event while they go racing at Stafford and Thompson.

nice, I have been saying they need an open wheel modified class for their weekly show for a few years now. Maybe this one race will be the start of something for their saturday night program. I know they added sks to their closer sometime in the late 90's or 2000's. It was added at the last minute and wasnt really supported by the drivers. I think there was maybe 5 cars but I remember tc and tucker reynolds put on a heck of a race until there was an accident. Hopefully, this race is supported and it ends up being a great show. I will make a point to support this one.

Technically, it wasn't a legal sk because it had a 4bbl on it. But what on earth does that have to do with an sk event (no real mods allowed) over 10 years ago?

I was just asking because it was said an SK type modified hadn't run at Seekonk since early 90's. And it popped into my head last year, because on the live feed they made such a big deal about Matty running an SK. So it just confused me. It had nothing to do with an SK event, it was just a question. I apologize for asking.

You're right. I took the original statement to mean there hadn't been an sk event there since '83, but after re-reading what they wrote, I see how you took it the way you did. Either way, that line is inaccurate as sks have raced there since '83.
