GREATEST DRIVER OF THE LAST 50 YEARS TO BE ANNOUNCED
WALTRIP, JONES, DILLON BROTHERS AND MORE AT MOTORSPORTS 2013 RACE CAR AND TRADE SHOW

The top fifty drivers of the last 50 years in the northeast list has been whittled down to the top ten. During the Motorsports Show, Fueled By Sunoco And Distributed by Insinger Performance, being presented at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA January 18-20, the order of the top ten drivers will be announced.

Included in the top ten are such standouts as stock car racers Kenny Brightbill, Will Cagle, the late Richie Evans, Brett Hearn, Jimmy Horton, Danny Johnson, Billy Pauch, Frankie Schneider, the late Dick Tobias and sprint car racing talent Fred Rahmer.

All eight living legends will be at the show. Tobias will be represented by his wife Mary and Evans, a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, will be represented by his daughter Tera Evans.

Fans will be able to obtain a beautiful color poster on Saturday at the show that was created speciallly for Area Auto Racing News by artist Emerson Friese with all ten finalists shown along with their racecar of choice. Emerson will be on hand to sign the poster.

Each living driver will be available for autographs on Saturday at the show from 2 to 4 pm. Several cars, driven by drivers named as part of the 50 greatest, will also be on display during the entire show.

The announcement as to who is the top driver of the past 50 years will take place on Friday night of the show at 7:15 at the stage.

The selection of the top 50 drivers was done as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the nationally circulated weekly tabloid auto racing publication, Area Auto Racing News. The first edition was printed on June 11, 1963.

Also part of the opening day of the show on Friday, January 18th, will be the appearance of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver, car owner and TV personality Michael Waltrip, a two time winner of the Daytona 500. He will meet and greet with fans, sign autographs, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The 28th edition of the Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show will feature more than 200,000 square feet of just about everything imaginable in motorsports including speedway displays, collectible vendors, a huge number of race cars on display, a variety of seminars covering a wide range of subjects, and more.

Indianapolis 500 winner Parnelli Jones will be making appearances throughout show hours on Saturday and will be signing copies of his new book.

Rising young NASCAR stars, Ty and Austin Dillon, will also be on hand from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Throughout the three day shows there will be well known local and regional racers and personalities appearing at the show.

Traditional events will include the Saturday BPG Racing Ms. Motorsports Pageant, the little Miss Motorsports Pageant (Sunday), and the very popular RAACE Foundation Kids Big Wheel races (Sunday). The latter two events are part of ‘Family Day Sunday’ sponsored by Metal Fab Pro Race Shop.

Hundreds of exhibitors will be part of the “Mid-Winter Motorsports Happening” that gets started at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 18th and continues through until 4 p.m. Sunday, January 20th.
