Many of the Whelen Tour drivers will be showing up for this race!

Have you bought a lap yet?

I think they are still looking for a sponsor for the top Whelen Tour driver ( they have one for the top VMRS and ROC guy)

Here's a link to the list of lap sponsors.

About a month away.. and no one has even responded to this thread. Kevin Rice has worked his you know what off to make this race a big success. If you would still like to sponsor a lap, let us know. If you are considering staying home and not going to Star... think about it.. and maybe change your mind!

I've seen a lot of names attached to this race. Do we have an official or unofficial entry list yet for this event. I agree with LI, this is a fine event and everyone should make an effort to attend. Some fine eats around the corner at Telly's restaurant before or after the races.

Telly's is a good choice because not only is the food good, but they donated a $50 gift card to the 50-50, from which half of the money goes into the purse. Entry list will be released by Monday morning. There are 25 entries as of now, with at least five more coming before the Saturday entry deadline. 30-35 cars is the rough guess right now. Full event schedule is listed on the track site under the rules/forms link. Event t-shirts are now available for $18, with $10 from every shirt going into the purse, which is more than $45,000 and that is real payoff money that the teams actually get, unlike some listed payoffs. Email StarSBM125@aol.com for more info or to purchase 50-50 tickets through the mail. You don't have to be at the race to win. 50-50 prizes confirmed so far are here:

Running the day after Stafford may turn out to be positive deal for Star in terms of car counts.

The monkey wrench will be if Stafford pulls a Sunday makeup date. If it rains tomorrow I would think Sunday will be in play for them.

If it rains tomorrow (Thursday) why would Stafford not run on Friday?

I meant Friday. I'm on vacation, the days just sort of mesh together. The weather for Friday is not looking good. A little better in the evening maybe. I would assume they will make a call tomorrow(Thurs) one way or another. There aren't many rain dates left that's why I'm thinking Sunday is a possibility if it rains on Friday. Unless of course they just cancel it outright. The weather for Star looks outstanding.

11am thurs... Hartford weather for Fri. is calling for nooontime clearing, but if they have to call it my guess is 4th of July we did that afew years back@ Stafford and it worked out pretty well.

I think they'll get it in now. Then everyone can take the short 2hr trip to Star for Saturday's Main Event. Should be a gorgeous night. If we are giving predictions, I like the 5 to unseat the 59 and take home the money.
