The history books at Bowman Gray Stadium are filled with the names and accolades of some of the greatest that NASCAR has ever known.

Glen Wood is a former champion. Richard Petty won his 100th race at the famed quarter mile.

And with decades of history, the records are impressive. Pee Wee Jones won five back-to-back championships in the late 1950’s, eventually adding a sixth title to his total in 1967 and giving him more
Modified crowns than any other competitor. That record stood until 1986 when Ralph Brinkley grabbed his seventh championship – a year later increasing that total to eight.

Tim Brown went down in the books last season by grabbing his ninth Modified title, breaking Brinkley’s record and earning Brown the honor of holding more championships than anyone else in the 64-year
history of Bowman Gray Stadium.

But now Brown sets his eye on a new record: the most wins.

On June 24, 2006, Junior Miller grabbed his 65th Modified victory, breaking Ralph Brinkley’s record for most wins. Since then, Miller has taken his victory total up to 71.

Last season, Brown passed by Ralph Brinkley’s win total to sit second on the roster for most wins. Currently with 66 victories, Brown will be pushing with all he’s got to grab the record for most wins.

“I just want to be remembered as one of the best that ever raced here,” said Tim Brown. “I think if we keep doing what we’re doing, that will happen some day. We’re going to try and break the most wins
record and get championship number ten.”

Could Brown surpass Junior Miller’s 71 wins in 2013? The #83 car of Tim Brown took the checkered four times in 2010, four times in 2011, and an impressive eight times last year in 2012. So while it’s
certainly conceivable, breaking the record will be no cakewalk for Brown.

And don’t forget – Junior Miller will be looking to add to his victory total this season, so the fans may be in for a battle they will never forget.

The season starts this weekend with the Hayes Jewelers 200 for the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Series. In addition to the Modified 200-lapper, there will be racing for the Sportsman, Street Stock, and
Stadium Stock Divisions. Qualifying will take place on Friday. On Saturday, ticket gates open at 6:00 for practice, and the first race begins at 8:00 PM. Ticket prices, directions, and more information can be
