Mid summer-like temperatures set the stage for the events Saturday night at Mountain Speedway. When it was all said and done, Travis Fisher of Fern Glen, PA notched his second straight Sport Modified victory of the season and Mitch Hawk of Saylorsburg, PA went to victory lane for his first Late Model win at the speedway. Paul Morgan, Jr. of Mountaintop, PA led flag to flag in the Factory Stock feature en route to his second victory of the season.

Paul Frantz started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 30-lap Sport Modified feature over Travis Fisher and Tommy Wanick III. With three laps in the yellow flag flew for Jason Hearne, who had just battled hard with Wanick for third.

Over several caution periods through out the show, Frantz maintained the point as drivers raced hard for second. It appeared that Frantz would have the victory, but following a restart with three laps remaining, Fisher, who was running second at the time, gave a shot to Frantz in turns one and two. Frantz held on to his car but lost the lead to Fisher.

Frantz ended up spinning in turn three to bring out the final yellow and following the restart, Fisher held his own to take the victory over Hearne and Frantz.

Travis Fisher was the heat race winner.

Riley Moczulski started from the pole in the 30-lap Late Model feature and lost the lead to Mitch Hawk before a lap was scored. As laps clicked off, Hawk and Moczulski began to distance themselves from the battle that ensued for third between Frank Hughes and Mark Tyson.

Tyson climbed to third but then lost the spot with a turn four spin.

With only three laps remaining, Hawk held his line and cruised to his first Mountain Speedway victory. Moczulski finished a career best second, followed by Hughes.

Riley Moczulski was the heat race winner.

Paul Morgan, Jr. started form the pole and led lap one of the 30-lap Factory Stock feature over Matt Mattern, Jr, Dan Pawlicki, Matt Schlenker and Stephanie Moyer.

Mattern challenged Morgan hard for the lead in the early going and with five laps complete, Schlenker got by Pawlicki for third.

With Morgan still setting the pace and with 13 laps remaining, Mattern spun on the backstretch to bring out the only yellow flag of the event. The turn of events moved Schlenker to second, followed by Pawlicki and Moyer.

Schlenker gave it his all following the restart, but couldn’t find a way around Morgan, who went on to take the checkered for his second win of the season. Schlenker settled for second, followed by Pawlicki.

Matt Mattern, Jr. and Paul Morgan, Jr. were heat race winners.
