For the second week in a row racing at Spencer Speedway has been canceled due to extremely wet conditions.
“Our infield is close to becoming ‘ Lake Spencer ’”, jokingly stated a very disappointed John White , the promoter. “With all of this rain, we just can not open the parking lots, the pits and especially the infield area of the track.”
White added, “I wanted to get this information out early enough so any racer wanting to run Chemung for NASCAR Whelen All American points could make plans to do so. The track proper at Chemung looks good and we can run there. Also no more rain is expected on Friday. But Spencer just needs time to dry out.”
This coming Friday, June 21st, the cars and starts from the Asphalt Race of Champions (RoC) Series return to Spencer Speedway for their second shot at the half mile oval. Joining the RoC Modifieds will be the Super Stocks, Super Sixes, Auto Value Scorpions and the INEX Legends. Race time is set for 7:30 p.m. sharp.
Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASC AR Place to Race” for Central New York in 2013. Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASC AR Whelen All-American Points.
