Many of the top drivers in asphalt Modified stock car racing are ready to compete in one of the most prestigious events in the sport as Wall Stadium presents the Garden State Classic this Saturday evening (June 29). Current plans call for spectator seating to open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:30 p.m. and main event action set for 7:00 p.m.
This year’s 125-lap format, offering $2,000 to the winner, is attracting the attention of several racers. Expected to see action are top drivers Chris Hamilton of Oakland, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Jackson’s Jason Treat, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham and Jonathan Mandato of Toms River. Also among expected entries are Adam LaCicero of Lavallette, Steven Reed and Chas Okerson, both of Freehold, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Christian LaCicero of Lavallette and Harry Schaeffer of Carteret are also expected to be in the field.
In addition to the championship 125-lap Modified race, the Sportsman division cars will compete in a 30-lap main event, while the Factory Stocks and the INEX Legend Cars compete in 25-lap feature races. The Limited Late Models and the 4 Cylinder cars will have the night off.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 2:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m.
Qualifying will then begin at 5:30 p.m. to be followed by feature race action for all four divisions slated for 7:00 p.m.
The track will then present the Motorpsycho Thrill Show on Sunday (June 30) afternoon at 1:00 p.m. During this exciting car and motorcycle thrill show fans will watch a car jump 125 feet over 10 cars! They will also see a dare devil jump from a height of 7 stories! Crash Moreau drive through a steel wall and catch on fire! Motorcycle stunts, burnouts, wheelies, jumps and fire will keep fans on the edge of their seats throughout the program!
Also on the agenda will be a pair of 100 lap Enduro races, each paying $500 to win.
On Sunday gates open at noon and the event begins at 1 pm.
