SEPTEMBER 14 NASCAR WHELEN TOUR RACE

$500 to the 16th place finisher from Flamingo Motorsports

Also known as JWfor8x here on the ChromeHorn - JW is retired and as he tells me - doesn't really have the money to do this... But his passion for the modifieds (and the Brunnhoelzls in particular) has made him come on board once again to sponsor a modified for the upcoming Tour race. In 2012, JW sponsored the 0 car of Ralph Solhem / Eddie Brunnhoelzl. While he's still hoping that his name will be on a Brunnhoelzl car for the Sept 14 race, he is also ready to sponsor John Beatty , as he did back in the June race. Sometimes, I refer to him as the Maniac of the north. Rob, who has his own "Riverhead" each year up at Holland Speedway, where he hands out lots of extra money to the ROC drivers. Rob, not only sponsored Patrick Emerling for the June race at Riverhead, but made the long drive down from Buffalo for his first ( but not last) Riverhead Raceway adventure.

Ok, maybe you have never seen Bruce's name on one of the sponsored cars at Riverhead - but he's the main reason about 5 cars have been sponsored over the years. Bruce has helped me with the Mike Ewanitsko hard charger award. He has been the man behind the MPZ Motorsports, In Memory of Chuck Montville, and Meeting Street School Charity sponsorships on some of the modifieds. Bruce is definitely another Mod Maniac , and couldn't do this Riverhead thing without his help!

Richie has come on board big time!! Sponsoring not 1, but 2 modifieds on Sept 14. Richie is another "Maniac" - the guy loves his racing!! Not totally sure who will be getting Richie's money, since we're not sure 100 percent who is racing, but right now Tommy Rogers and Jason Agugliaro are his choices. Sept 14 will have Spencer Perry and Russ Perry back on the #16 of Ryan Preece. The Perrys have sponsored a number of cars the last few years at the Riverhead Tour races. The Riverhead race will probably be about the 100th race of the season for the Perrys as they travel all over the place to catch a race. They are the true racing "MANIACS"

As always, there's a good chance that #51 car could be in victory lane when the checkered flag waves at the Sept 14 Tour date.

Welcome on board Art! He will be sponsoring the number 3 driven by Teddy Christopher on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Riverhead Raceway!

Racing has always been a part of Art's life - his dad crewed on the modifieds back in the 1950s, and Art did the same on some Figure 8 cars at Islip. Art misses the tracks of old, Riverside Park, Shangri La, and Flemington, but has fond memories of TC winning at both Nazareth and also at Jennerstown.

Art has chose to sponsor the 3 car strictly out of love for the sport and because he wants to "give back" to the sport he loves.. He knows that coming to the Island is a hardship for most teams, the tolls alone are brutal!!!

Fred Wilcox inspired him when he helped out Wade Cole and Art always hoped he would one day have the opportunity to do the same. That day has come !!!
