Entering this season, Mitch Hawk of Saylorsburg was winless at Mountain Speedway, but that all changed this year. Not only did Hawk scored his first career Late Model victory at the track earlier in the season, but he went on to notch a second and now third, as he went to victory lane once again Saturday night. Another driver won for the third time this year as well, when Chris Burge of Mountaintop took the Street Stock feature win. Also from Mountaintop, Matt Mattern, Jr. dominated the Factory Stock event for his fourth victory of the season and Tony Hilliard of Hazelton held off Scott Adams to score his second Four Cylinder win of the year. Long Island’s Mike Renn took the checkers in the 4C Super Modified event.

Frank Hughes started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 30-lap Late Model feature over Mitch Hawk and Mark Tyson moved by Riley Moczulski to take third.

With one lap complete, Hawk made his move on the leader and grabbed the race lead. Three laps later, Tyson got by Hughes for the runner up spot and then Moczulski got by Hughes for third.

Without any yellow flags to slow the action, Hawk began to pull away from the field and Moczulski hounded Tyson for second. With one lap remaining, Moczulski made the pass on Tyson stick to grab second.

Unchallenged for the win, Hawk took the checkers for his third win of the season. Moczulski was the runner up, followed by Tyson, Glenn Slocum and Hughes.

From the pole, Bernie Uphold led the Street Stock field to the drop of the green in the 25-lap feature. He led the first lap over Charlie Castiglione, Randy Schlenker, Kevin Higgins and Scott Adams.

Following a quick yellow on lap three, Castiglione took the race lead and a lap later, Higgins got by Schlenker for third. Five laps later he overtook Uphold for second and set his sights on Castiglione.

Chris Burge overtook Schlenker for third on lap 14 and then snagged second from Higgins a lap later. One lap after that he got underneath Castiglione for the lead.

Uncontested to the finish, Burge took the checkers to score his third win of the season. Castiglione finished second, followed by Higgins, Schlenker and Adams.

Heat race victories went to Bernie Uphold and Charlie Castiglione.

Del Morgan started on the pole position for the 20-lap Factory Stock feature, but he was overtaken by Matt Mattern, Jr. before a lap was scored. Morgan tucked into second and was pursued by Tony Hilliard in the early going.

With 12 laps complete and with Mattern still showing the way, Hilliard battled with Morgan and grabbed second.

Mattern drove away from his competition to take his fourth win of the season in the caution-free event. In his first start in the division, Hilliard settled for second, followed by Morgan.

Jay Skupski led the Four Cylinder field to the drop of the green flag in the 20-lap feature. He led the opening circuit over Larry Spencer III, Scott Adams, Tony Hilliard and John Banashefski.

With a lap complete, Adams got by Spencer for second and Hilliard followed through for third. With three laps complete, Adams grabbed the lead from Skupski and Hilliard attempted the pass for second.

Hilliard tried to get under Skupski for second on lap four and the two touched. Skupski spun and both drivers were sent to the rear of the field for the restart. The restart however was unsuccessful, as another yellow flag waved when Spencer got into Skupski in turn one.

Green flag racing resumed and Hilliard overtook Adams for the lead.

Despite efforts from Adams in the late going, Hilliard held his line to take the checkers for his second win of the season. Adams settled for second, followed by Banashefski, Skupski and Spencer.

Scott Adams and Tony Hilliard took heat race victories.

Steve Renn started from the pole position and led the opening circuit of the 20-lap 4C Super Modified race over Wes Gilbert and Ron Merlino. Gilbert took his turn at the lead on lap three, but it was short-lived, as he lost the spot to Merlino a lap later.

Following a quick yellow on lap five, the leaders tangled on the restart and Mike Renn inherited the lead. He never relinquished the spot and took the victory over R. Merlino and Bob Renn.
