Following qualifying heats Saturday evening at Mountain Speedway, track officials were forced to postpone the main events because of rain. That however didn’t discourage several Four Cylinder drivers, as they wanted to put on a show for the fans, regardless of the rain. In a close race to the finish, Harry O’Neill of Mountaintop held off Scott Adams to score the “Mother Nature 15” exhibition victory.

Larry Spencer III led the Four Cylinder field to the drop of the green flag in the 15-lap exhibition event and was quickly overtaken for the race lead by Joe Russell.

Before a lap was complete, Harry O’Neill climbed to second, followed by Spencer, Tony Hilliard and Scott adams.

With a lap in the books, O’Neill got by Russell and took the lead. Adams worked his way into the top three and then with four laps complete, he got under Russell to take third.

Adams reeled in O’Neill by mid race and Hilliard slid up to third. Without a yellow flag to slow the action, O’Neill held on to take the victory over Adams, Hilliard, Russell, Spencer and Justin Hughes.

Several make up dates were announced for the feature events that were rained out. The make up for the Factory Stock and Four Cylinder features is slated for Saturday, August 3. The Street Stock make up is scheduled for Saturday, August 10 and the Modified feature will take place on Saturday, August 24.
