Officials at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway have announced a few schedule updates with added events.
On Sunday, August 25, a Big Car and Small Car Enduro will be run. The afternoon event begins at 2:00 p.m. A second Enduro will also be held on October12. That same day will also see a champ kart and Micro Stock show.
Modified racers will be running for extra laps and cash on September 14 with the Ricky Dorshimer Memorial 93. The feature race will be contested over a distance of 93 laps, which is reflective to the late track champion’s title year of 1993. The race will pay $3000 to win plus lap money will be offered. There is an entry fee for this race but with the added bonus of lap money that will be presented throughout the field it stands to be a lucrative race for all.
Also, after last year’s rousing success of Octoberfast 2012, the marquee event returns with the 2013 edition and now an added race too.
The Dirt Modifieds have been included with a special 60-lap, $3000-to-win main event on October 26. And, with no other area dirt tracks running that weekend, it has the making to be a huge turnout of dirt mod racers that will get the chance to face off against the very experience Mahoning regulars for some serious cash.
This coming Saturday, August 17, regular features will be held for the Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods and Hobby Stocks plus the 4C Super Mods will be in action. The Pro 4’s have the night off.
