After contact with a lap car earlier in the event and then having to restart at the tail end of the field, Kyle Harvell of New York, NY worked past Mitch Hawk to score the Late Model main event Saturday at Mountain Speedway. Following a terrific side-by-side battle with Randy Schlenker, Kevin Higgins of Alden grabbed the lead and then took the checkers to claim his fifth Street Stock win of the season. In another exciting battle for the win, Paul Morgan, Sr. of Mountaintop gave the bump and run to Stephanie Moyer to notch his third Factory Stock win. Despite not being able to fire his regular ride for the start of the show, Scott Adams of Lake Ariel jumped into his backup ride and took the checkers for his twelfth win of the season in Four Cylinder competition and New Jersey’s Chuck Potts took top honors in the Dirt Modified feature.

Kyle Harvell turned the quickest lap during Late Model qualifying and Riley Moczulski started from the pole position in the 30-lap feature. Mitch hawk grabbed the lead following the drop of the green flag and led the first lap over Harvell, Moczulski, Mark Tyson and Frank Hughes.

Harvell rode on the back bumper of Hawk in the early going and then jumped to the outside. He Led lap eight as the front two approached lapped traffic. The lapped car made contact with Harvell and the yellow waved, which gave the lead back to Hawk.

Green flag racing resumed and Harvell began his climb back toward the front. He made his bid for the lead on lap 13 and then began to drive away from the field. However, the field got bunched back up when the yellow flag waved with two laps remaining when Moczulski and Hawk collected in turn one. Tyson lined up in second behind Harvell for the shootout to the finish.

Harvell was flawless on the restart and notched his fourth win of the season. Hawk came back to finish second, followed by Tyson, Moczulski and Hughes.

Aaron Higgins led the Street Stock field to the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap feature. He led the opening circuit over Robert Fink, Randy Schlenker, Charlie Castiglione and Kevin Higgins.

Schlenker worked the leader and made a bid for the top spot, which he grabbed on the second lap. With three laps in the books, K. Higgins shot by Fink for third and then overtook A. Higgins for second two laps later.

Meanwhile, Castiglione and Bernie Uphold fought for the fifth spot, which they exchanged on laps eight and nine. With 10 laps complete, Schlenker continued to set the pace over K. Higgins, Fink, Uphold and Castiglione.

K. Higgins jumped to the outside of the leader and the two battled side by side before k. Higgins took the lead on lap 14 and then Castiglione, who had been in the fourth spot at the time, climbed past Fink for third on lap 17.

En route to his fifth win of the season, K. Higgins was flawless and took the checkered flag. Schlenker settled for second, followed by Castiglione, Fink and Uphold.

Heat race victories went to Charlie Castiglione and Randy Schlenker.

Matt Mattern, Jr. was quickest in Factory Stock qualifying and Stephanie Moyer led the field to the drop of the green in the 20-lap feature. Moyer led the opening lap with Mattern, Paul Morgan, Sr., Del Morgan and Frank Katona in tow.

The only yellow of the event slowed the pace on the first circuit when D. Morgan and Mattern got together in turn four. Green flag racing resumed with Moyer in command over P. Morgan.

Morgan tried to run both the top and bottom groove of the track with hopes of finding real estate around the leader. To no avail over several attempts, he finally got his chance when Moyer left the door open in turns one and two.

P. Morgan gave a shot to Moyer and then let her gather her car back up before diving to the inside to take the lead. Shortly after Mattern followed through for second.

P. Morgan went on to take the checkers for his third time this season. Mattern crossed the stripe in second, followed by Moyer, D. Morgan and Katona.

From the pole position, Heather Fennell led the Four Cylinder field to the green flag in the 20-lap feature. She led the first circuit, followed by Jay Skupski, Scott Adams, Tony Hilliard and Walt Henry.

With four laps complete, Adams battled Skupski and took over the second spot. Two laps later he caught Fennell and made a pass for the lead.

John Banashefski cracked the top five and then overtook Henry for fourth on lap eight before the yellow flag waved when Skupski and Fennell tangled in turns three and four. The turn of events moved Banashefski up to second and behind Adams for the restart.

Despite a late race attempt from Banashefski, Adams held on to take an impressive twelfth win of the season and Banashefski was forced to finish in second. John Smith made a fantastic late race charge to claim third, followed by Robert Azarowicz and Fennell.

Heather fennel and Jay Skupski were heat race winners.

A 15-lap exhibition Dirt Modified feature was held and Mark Levy started from the pole. He led the opening lap and then was overtaken by Chuck Potts, who never looked back.

Potts took the victory over Levy and Scott Adams, who were nearly side-by-side at the finish.
