Despite having the threat of bad weather for the show, the second to last round of the Mountain Madness Enduro Series kicked off Saturday at Mountain Speedway. The rain held off for the event and when it was all said and done and following post race tech inspection, Harry O’Neill of Mountaintop was awarded his first career victory in the 100-lap four cylinder Enduro. Scott Riggleman of Manchester, NJ continued in his winning ways and claimed the 6/8-cylinder enduro victory and Mike Carroll, Jr. took the checkered flag to notch his first career INEX Legends win.

From the pole position, Tony Hilliard led the 4-cylinder field to the drop of the green flag in the 100-lap event. Sam Ryan grabbed the race lead and led the first circuit over Harry Sager, Mark Foreman, Harry O’Neill and Tony Rispin.

With one lap complete, O’Neill moved to third and battled with Sager. With Ryan still showing the way on lap 24, O’Neill took second from Sager. Sager, however didn’t give up easily and retook the spot on the following lap. Two laps later the pair swapped the spot again and O’Neill pulled Sager by a few car lengths. Forman overtook Sager for third on lap 30 and then four laps later Rispin made the same move to take third.

Ryan began to drive off from the field and led O’Neill, Foreman, Larry Spencer III and Rispin at halfway. With 73 laps complete, Spencer overtook foreman for third but no one had anything for Ryan or O’Neill, who were the only two cars to finish on the lead lap.

Ryan was disqualified for a rules infraction in post race teach and O’Neill was awarded the win, which was his first ever enduro victory. Spencer, Foreman, Mike Harding and Rispin completed the top five.

George “Pappy” Herman started form the pole position in the 100-lap 6/8-cylinder event buy Scott Sipe grabbed the lead at the drop of the green. He led the opening lap over Steve Tito, Scott Riggleman, Ryan and TJ Kapish.

Riggleman got by Tito for second and then took the lead from Sipe with two laps in the books and Kapish followed through for the third spot.

Ryan, who was in competition with a four cylinder, overtook Kapish for the runner up spot on lap 13 and then set his sights on the leader. With 25 laps complete, Riggleman continued to show the way over Ryan, Kapish, Sipe and Tito.

The top five remained the same in the second half of the show until the red flag waved with seven laps remaining when Ryan lost a wheel on the backstretch. Green flag racing resumed and Riggleman was untouched to the checkers to score the victory. Kapish, Sipe, Tito and Shaun Burd completed the top five.

Dylan Hoffman led the first circuit of the 20-lap INEX Legends feature after starting from the pole position. Mike Carroll, Jr. held second with Raven Schrantz and Brad Lowmaster in tow.

Carroll grabbed the lead following the first lap and Lowmaster overtook Schrantz for second. He then reeled in the leader and tried numerous times to take the top spot, but Carroll remained calm and held his line to notch his first victory in the division. Lowmaster settled for second, followed by Schrantz, Hoffman and Chris Hammett.
