Big money payouts for all stock car racing divisions and family fun featuring free pumpkins, face painting, a Monster Truck bounce house and spin art are on the agenda for the “Spooky Spectacular” at Wall Stadium this Saturday afternoon (Oct. 19) with main event action starting at 2:00 p.m. Grandstand seating opens at noon with qualifying at 1:00 p.m. A rain date of the following day is in effect.

Modified stock car action will see recently crowned and three-time champion Chas Okerson of Freehold among the favorites in the 75-lap, $3000 to win feature race. Still, Howell’s Eric Mauriello, Holmdel’s Andrew Krause, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham, Adam LaCicero of Lavallette and Chris Lane of Howell will also be contention for the win.

Newly crowned champion Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Trevor Alspach of Willingboro and Kevin Davison of Howell will be among the Sportsman drivers to watch in their 50-lap main event. Action should be intense as the winner will pocket $1,000.

In the Factory Stock ranks Ronnie Mullen of Brick will try to make a great season even better by winning the $400 top prize in the 30-lap feature race. With a $400 payday possible newly crowned Limited Late Model title holder Brian Doyle of Coram, N.Y. will be looking for glory in the 30-lap main for his division.

Long Island, N.Y. driver Mike Wahl, who just won the 4 Cylinder championship in September, will be a favorite to win the $300 to prize in his 30-lap main event.

The Legend Cars will have an extra special 30-lapper as they honor car-owner and supporter Malcolm Campbell, who recently passed away, in a 30-lap feature. The “Malcolm Campbell Memorial” will not only feature prize money, but also $5,000 in bonus money posted by friends, supporters and sponsors.

With on registration fees or forms not required, this event could boast a large field of last minute entries.

The pit area will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and practice will then begin at 10:30 a.m. Spectator seating will open at noon. On track competition will begin at 1:00 p.m. with qualifying events to be followed by six feature races at 2:00 p.m.

Once the “Spooky Spectacular” is in the record books the season ends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend with the 40th annual “Turkey Derby.” Camping is welcome for Turkey Derby weekend with reservations required.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays through September and special events in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
