Grandview TOTH 358 Modified winner to get guaranteed starting spot for Mahoning Valley Octoberfast 2013 Dirt Mod 60-lapper
Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, in cooperation with Bob Miller and NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill, is happy to announce that the winner of the Grandview Thunder 358 Modified race on Saturday, October 19, which starts at 6:00 p.m. and is part of the season ending Grandview Speedway Thunder 5-25s, will receive a guaranteed starting spot for the Dirt Mod 60-lap feature as part of the triple-header “Octoberfast 2013” presented by Tom Ring’s Brown Daub Kia of Easton at the popular paved ¼-mile oval.
The season ending Mahoning Valley Speedway event takes place on Saturday, October 26.
The 60-lap Dirt Mod feature race, which is being run in honor of former track promoter Doug Hoffman, pays $3000 to win, $1800 for second and $250 to take the green. 24 cars will start the race.
If 30 or more cars are on hand there will be a b-main for non-qualified racers and pay $500 to win, $300 to 2nd, $150 to third and $50 to take the green.
Home track rules apply to each car/driver. Any conventional dirt tire will be allowed. Ride height is waived. There is a 57 left side percentage. No mirrors or radios can be used and scanners are mandatory.
The Mahoning Octoberfast 2013 Dirt Mod 60-lap winner will also be a guaranteed starter for Selinsgrove Speedway’s RoC Dirt Modified 358 race on Friday, March 14, 2014.
Asphalt Modifieds will race in a 130-lap $5000 to win main and the Street Stocks will go 75-laps and pay $2000 to win.
Sunday, October 20 from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. there will be open paid practice for anyone wishing to test and tune.
October 20 is also the final day to pre-register and save money. $50 pre-register, $75 thereafter and day of race. Registration will be taking place at the track throughout the day on October 20.
On race day pit gates open at 10:00 a.m., grandstands at noon. Grandstand admission is $25 (no discounts). Pit admission is $40. Practice will take place from noon to 3:00 p.m. Heats will start at 4:00 p.m.
Rain date will be Sunday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m.
