With their 14th annual awards ceremony coming up this Saturday at Best Western Genetti Inn & Suites, the green flag will stay out for the 2013 racing season at Mountain Speedway. Following the banquet, a 150-lap $5,000 to win (based on 50 cars min.) enduro, named the “Turkey Leg 150”, is scheduled for Sunday, November 10.

The rules for the enduro are simple and so is the format of the event. Drivers are allowed to have a passenger in their vehicles, which must be “bone stock” cars. The drivers must also bring the title for the car, as they must leave the car after the event, regardless of where the car finishes.

All of the information for the event is on the speedway website. There is not any entry fee to race. The grandstand admission fee is $10 and the action is scheduled to kick off at 1 PM. Children 10 years of age and younger will be admitted for free.

Following the holiday season, Mountain will host “Frostbite 7”, its final event under the Mountain Speedway name, to honor Joe and Dorothy Callavini, who have promoted the speedway for the last 14 seasons. The event is slated to take place on Saturday, January 4, 2014, where a $1,000 to win 4-Cylinder and 6/8-Cylinder Enduro will be on the card for the afternoon, plus a pair of $500 to win demolition derbies will also take place. Following the races, a firework display will close out the festivities. All of the rules, prices and times are on the speedway website and more information will be available as the date approaches.

St. Johns, PA- Mountain Speedway is just minutes from Hazleton, Pa, located on St. John’s Road, between Routes 93 and 309. For more information, including upcoming shows and news, please visit www.mountainspeedway.com.
