Stafford Motor Speedway has released its 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event schedule. The 2014 schedule will consist of 22 racing events, with the season kicking off with the 43rd Annual Spring Sizzler on April 25-27, and concluding with the 42nd Annual Fall Final Weekend on September 27-28.
Highlighting the 2014 schedule will be 7 events featuring Modified touring divisions. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make their customary four visits to Stafford, and the Valenti Modified Racing Series will make three stops to the Connecticut half-mile. The Whelen Modified Tour comes to Stafford on April 25-27 for the Spring Sizzler, May 23 for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125, Aug. 8 for the Stafford 150, and Sept. 27-28 for the Fall Final Weeeknd. The VMRS visits Stafford on June 20 for the Town Fair Tire 80, July 18 for the VMRS 80, and Aug. 29 for the VMRS 80.
Continuing with the special event theme, all five of Stafford's weekly divisions will partake in an extra distance feature with bonus money being presented to the top-5 finishers courtesy of XtraMart Convenience Stores. Last year's XtraMart Xtra D events paid out a total of $3,750 in bonus money and this year's Xtra D events will once again pay out $3,750 among Stafford's five weekly divisions. The Late Model 60-lap XtraMart Xtra D feature will be May 9, the DARE Stock 20-lap XtraMart Xtra D feature will be May 16, the Limited Late Model 25-lap XtraMart Xtra D feature will be May 30, the SK Modified® 45-lap XtraMart Xtra D feature will be June 6, and the SK Light 25-lap XtraMart Xtra D feature will be June 27.
Another bonus program that will be available to Stafford competitors will be $4,055 courtesy of Call Before You Dig and the CBYD 811 Challenge. The CBYD 811 Challenge begins with the Spring Sizzler feature and awards points to all Stafford competitors for their feature finishes. The CBYD 811 Challenge points are accumulated through the August 8th feature and the 5 drivers who come the closest to 811 points without going over will each receive an $811 bonus from CBYD.
Special Friday night events BFF Night and Girls Night out return to the 2014 schedule while four new events, the SK Modified® 5K on July 4, Donut Night on July 25, FBF Night on August 1, and the Back to SK®ool Blitz on September 5, have been added to the schedule. Further details on the SK 5K, Donut Night, FBF Night, and Back to SK®ool Blitz will be released at a later date.
Stafford Motor Speedway will illuminate the night time sky with fireworks on three different Friday nights during the 2014 season, the Summer Blast-Off on June 14, the SK Light Xtra D program on June 27, and the Back to SK®ool Blitz program on September 5.
The USHRA Monster Trucks return to Stafford Motor Speedway in 2014 with two shows on Saturday, July 26, and one show on Sunday, July 27. SMS will host three different Connecticut Motorcycle Swap Meets on Sunday, March 30, Sunday, June 29, and Sunday, October 26. Stafford will host two Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meets on Sunday, April 6 and Sunday, October 19.
One final special event on the 2014 schedule will be the Wicked Big Meet on Sunday, June 8. The Wicked Big Meet is New England's largest Subaru enthusiast festival and last year's event drew well over 2,500 Subaru vehicles.
As always at Stafford Motor Speedway, the month of May is Youth Organization Month. For each Friday night racing event during the month of May, All Children (Ages 6-14) Wearing A Youth Organization Team Shirt Or Uniform (Scouts, Little League, Etc) will be given free admission when accompanied by an adult!
Stafford Motor Speedway has 2014 Season Passes available now, which are good for all NASCAR and VMRS Race events, but do not include admission for Monster Truck shows, Swap Meets, the Wicked Big Meet Subaru Event, Monday night Wild Thing Kart events, or any other event(s) that may be added to the schedule.
