View Full Version : 01/05/14 - Evergreen Raceway Park Releases Schedule, Sets Sights on Motorsports 2014

The Pioneer Pole Building’s Motorsports 2014 Racecar & Trade Show Fueled by Sunoco and Distributed by Insinger Performance is straight ahead and Evergreen Raceway Park will be on hand!. The three day show is set for the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA, is slated to run from January 10th through the 12th and management from the speedway will be at their display to meet fans, racers and also to distribute the 2014 season schedule, which was recently released.

The schedule for the upcoming season has been out for just over a week and it appears to be action-packed, which the core divisions being the Modifieds, B Modified (or Sport Modifieds), Dirt Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks (or Factory Stocks), Front Wheel Drives (FWD) and INEX Legends. Several special shows are slated to take place through out the year, including mechanic’s races, visits from the TQ Midgets and Atlantic Coast Old Timers. Big Wheel races for the kids will be held on occasion, and the Super Stock Car Series is also slated to compete this year. A Handful of special shows may be added before the green flag drops on the new season beginning on Saturday, April 19 for the first of two practices.

Selected dates are scheduled for free grandstand admission for Scouts, Veterans, Armed Forces, Police, Fire and First Responder personnel. One night grandparents will get half off.

The biggest news for the Modifieds is that Evergreen Raceway Park will host a Poker Series during the 2014 season. On selected dates throughout the year, the winners of the selected events will draw a playing card. At the end of the series the driver with the highest five card hand will win $1,000. The second highest hand will pay $500, followed by $250 for third.

Several “Battle for the Green” dates are in the planning stages and the dates will be announced before the first official race of the season. Over the period of a month, six-eight local bands (two per race night) will play at intermission. The fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. The winners from each night will then compete on a named date to see who will win the $1,000 prize in the “Battle for the Green”. Track Manager, Harry Buchman, is excited about getting to the track to begin improvements. He’s also thrilled about the upcoming season.

“There has been a lot of Evergreen interest from the tri-state area and not just from our locals”, said Buchman.

“Of course we are doing everything that we can to get a great core group of racers here, but we are working on several things for both the racers and the fans that will make them want to come back over and over again after seeing a show at Evergreen this year. I just can’t wait until we can get in the track to begin improvements.”

The 2014 payouts are almost complete and should be posted on the track website within the next week. An announcement will also be made very soon in regards to the track tire for this season and the Enduro schedule is also in motion and will be released within the next few weeks.
