Hi Gil,
According to the link, Dave Brigati will be in the car for 2014. He brought some money. It has to be a good thing if the #79 can run in 2014.

Was surprised to see Hillbilly Racing at New Smyrna this week after reading he was closing up shop. I believe Spencer Davis was driving the car but didn't do much but ride around (for seat time?)

Very slow at Daytona in the first practice, 25th out of 30. I expect it to be better by qualifying time.

Only 6 southern teams there; pretty disappointing, but certainly understandable.

They were 25th in the final practise, with a 17.866 lap. This was .546 off the fast time. They had a 18.226, for 22nd, in the 1st session - which was .514 off the top time.

Also - I count 11 southern teams...depending on which some signed up for...

Why too close to home?

No, most of these teams down here don't have the money to run anywhere other than BGS. Even if it is Daytona.

The ones that went did pretty well though. 3 of the top 5, 4 of the top 7. And if there was a little more aggressive driver in the 14, there would have been a Southern winner.
