Evergreen Raceway Park is proud to announce that Cargill of Hazleton is hosting “Cargill Driver Appreciation Day” at the third mile oval on Sunday, May 4. As a terrific sponsor of Moyer Racing, many of the Cargill employees will be in the pit area will plenty of steaks and grills, in which they will grill to please for the folks in the pit area, including the drivers and crew members. It’s just their way to say thank you to all of the people that take part in the greatest sport in NEPA- short track auto racing!

According to the Wikipedia and Cargill websites, Cargill Incorporated is a family owned multi national corporation that is based in Minnetonka, MN. The company was founded in 1865 and is currently the largest privately owned corporation in the United States.

Clean up of the speedway grounds has been ongoing since March 1st and with plenty of help from many volunteers, the hard work has not gone unnoticed, as the speedway staff has been posting photos on their Facebook page for the fans and drivers to see. There’s no doubt that the speedway will be ready to go for opening day on Sunday, April 27 and improvements will continue through out the entire season.

The Speedway is also hosting a Friday Night Concert Series and the schedule and band line up will be released shortly.

Two practice days are set for April 19 & 26. Cars from every division are invited to take to the track for testing and the pit admission for those days is $10. Fans are also invited to come out for free admission to the grandstands.
