NAPA Auto Parts Becomes Presenting Sponsor Of Inaugural SK 5k Race At Stafford Motor Speedway
NAPA Auto Parts, the elite sponsor of Stafford Motor Speedway is excited to be the presenting sponsor of the July 4th SK 5k race. The SK 5k Presented by NAPA Auto Parts is a new and unique event for Stafford's premier SK Modified® division that will pay $5,000 to the winner from a purse of over $27,000. The race will be unique in the fact that Stafford has opened the race format up to a fans vote, which will allow fans to vote on all aspects of the race format beginning in late March.
But the race format is not where the uniqueness will end with the SK 5k Presented by NAPA Auto Parts. NAPA Auto Parts is a supporter of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which serves United States military personnel wounded or injured in service to our nation, and their families. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund will be on hand during the SK 5k Presented by NAPA Auto Parts to raise awareness of their cause and to take donations. Adding to the night's festivities, plans are in the works for Stafford Speedway to host a Fourth of July style Barbeque during the night and plans are also in the works to have a live band perform, giving the already blockbuster event a family fun party atmosphere.
"We're working on cooking up the perfect recipe for a Fourth of July race," said Stafford COO/GM Mark Arute. "We've already announced the biggest purse we've ever had for an SK Modified® race, which is a benefit for our competitors, and we have the fan vote, which gets the fans involved in the race in a way that they've never been before. With NAPA coming on board to be the presenting sponsor of the race and bringing in the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, that is a perfect organization to be associated with for a Fourth of July event. With the BBQ and live band, we're going to make the Fourth of July at Stafford a holiday to remember not only for our race fans but our drivers and teams as well!"
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. The Fund has provided close to $150 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans since its inception in 2000. Their support is funded entirely with donations from the public, and hundreds of thousands of individuals have made contributions to the Fund.
Fans will choose the entire SK 5k Presented by NAPA Auto Pars race format from the lap count to the qualifying procedure to pitting for tires.
