Moms will be honored at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (May 10) as the third mile high banked paved auto racing speedway will present a complete auto racing program. Moms will be in the spotlight on this Mother’s Day weekend as John Gasko of Gasko Farms will be on hand to present moms a flower as long as supplies last. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying starting at 6:00 p.m. and main event action to follow.

The high powered Downs Ford Modifieds will be in the spotlight in a 40 lap main event, Sportsman cars will race in a 30-lapper and the Factory Stocks, Limited Late Models and the Legend Cars will each battle in 25-lap main events. A special Powder Puff race for the ladies, in honor of all the moms, is also on the agenda.

For Downs Ford Modified stock cars fans a double header of sorts is on tap. In addition to the regularly scheduled 40-lapper, the final 23 laps of the May 3 rain postponed Downs Ford Modified race will also be presented. Howell’s Eric Mauriello was being attacked for the lead by Holmdel’s Andrew Krause and Freehold’s Chas Okerson when rain began to fall on the 21 car field last Saturday.

On Saturday pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m., with the regular afternoon practice session beginning at 3:00 p.m. Spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying is set for 6:00 p.m. with main event action to follow.

Action will then continue on Sunday (May 11) as Wall Stadium presents the “Sunday Small-Car Series” starting at 11:00 a.m.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400, while CKMotorsports@aol.com is the track’s email address. More information is also available at www.wallspeedwayracing.com.
