KIDS BASEBALL LEAGUE NIGHT THIS SATURDAY (MAY 17)
For the third time in as many events, Wall Stadium Speedway stock car races were effected by rain on Saturday night (May 10). This time the entire program was cancelled by heavy late-afternoon rain.
The staff at the third mile high banked paved oval will try for a fourth time to get a complete racing card in the books this Saturday night (May 17) when “Kids Baseball League Night” is presented. On this night, which honors youth baseball, kids arriving at the speedway wearing a league shirt or jersey will be admitted free of charge.
On the speedway the Sportsman cars will be in the spotlight in a “cone race.” Also in action will be the Legend Cars, Factory Stocks and 4 Cylinder cars along with the first appearance of the year by the open cockpit TQ Midgets and the beautifully restored cars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club. The 4 Cylinder cars will compete in two main events; one regularly schedule and one rain postponed from a few weeks ago.
Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is then set for 6:00 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.
Action will then continue on Sunday (May 18) as Wall Stadium presents the “Sunday Small-Car Series” starting at 11:00 a.m.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
