Driver’s Gearing up For Round #1 Of the “Poker Series”

The ground pounding mighty Modifieds return to action this Sunday at Evergreen Raceway Park in St. Johns, PA. The regular show, which will showcase the Modifieds gives drivers the opportunity to test out their rides in preparation for round no. one of five for the much anticipated series, which is slated to pay $3,000 to the winner of the first four 75-lap events. The final and season ending round no. 5 event will pay an outstanding $5,000 in October, in conjunction with the “King of the Green” races.

Also on the card for the afternoon on Sunday, May 18 are the Late Models, Four Cylinders and a special visit from the Atlantic Coast Old Timers. The pits open at 10:30 AM and warm ups begin at 12:30 PM. Racing will kick off at 2 PM sharp. The speedway is also offering free grandstand admission for all military members (must show I.D.) in honor of Armed Forces Day.

Round no. one of the Modified Poker Series is slated for Sunday, May 25. There will be a $100 registration fee for Modified competitors. The pits are set to open at 10:30 AM and warm ups will begin at 12:30 PM. Modified heat races will kick off at 2 PM. Drivers will pull pills for the heat race lineups. Grandstand admission is set at $15 for adults and children 12 years of age and younger will be admitted for free.

The popular Street Stocks are also on the card with a special $600 to win 35-lap feature. The Dirt Modifieds are also slated to take the stage that afternoon.

Pit admission is $35 with a pit license and $45 without. A pit license is not required to compete during any week this season at the speedway.
