For the second week in a row rains fell during the afternoon hours forcing Spencer Speedway track officials to cancel racing on Friday night, May 23.

“It seems Mother Nature just doesn’t want to give us a break this year,” commented race director Larry Steurrys. “So far we were only able to complete half of our practice session held two weeks ago. The race cars wheels have not turned since then.”

Due to the rain out, the NYS Super Stocks are going to be added to the show on May 30th. Originally scheduled for the night is a “Meet and Greet the Drivers” night featuring the Sunoco Modifieds, Super Sixes and 4-Cylinder cars. Now the Super Stocks will be part of that program. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

This is an excellent opportunity for the fans to go down on the track and meet their favorite drivers and get a close up look at the race cars. Let’s all look for sunny skies that day.

Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester, NY, along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson. Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASC AR Place to Race” for Central New York in 2014. Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Points.
