When it comes to face paced short track action, Mahoning Valley Speedway is the place to be. All of the track’s divisions offer their own brand of close racing and this coming Saturday night, May 31 the Modifieds will get to showcase their wares not once but twice.

On tap will be twin 30-lap features for the headline class of the paved Lehighton quarter mile oval. Each race will pay $1500 to win. The field will be set by way of weekly handicapping for the first race and then the top 15 from the second race, provided all are on the lead lap, will be inverted.

Eric Beers scored his second win of the season last weekend and is the point leader. He will have the usual tough company of weekly regulars to contend with including Nevin George, John Markovic, Earl Paules, Chip Santee and rookie hot shoe Kyle Strohl to name a few.

With just 30 laps to get the job done expect everyone to be on their game come race time. It will surely be an intense night of Modified racing.

Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks will also be running heats and features.

Pit gates open at noon. There will be early paid practice from 1:00 to 3:00. Regular warm-ups will be held from 4:00 – 5:00. Adult general admission is $15. $2.00 off for students, seniors 65 + and active military, must have ID. Children 10 and under are free.

Coming up on Saturday, June 7 Baltimore Life Insurance Fan Appreciation Night. Grandstand admission is just $8 for what is one of the biggest nights of the season.

Mahoning Valley Speedway is located on PA route 443, two miles west of Lehighton. Additional info can be found on the track’s website at www.mahoningvalley-speedway.com Also on Facebook at Mahoning Valley Speedway.
