Stock car racing on the third-mile high banked paved speedway and grandstand fun will be the hallmark of this Saturday evening’s (June 14) card at Wall Stadium Speedway. Area NAPA Auto Parts dealers will be on hand with prizes for the fans and extra incentives for the racers. With it being Father’s Day eve, the speedway management will also present a gift to every dad who comes in through the grandstand or pit area gates. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. with qualifying starting at 6:00 p.m. and main events shortly thereafter.

On the track defending champion Chas Okerson of Freehold will lead the Downs Ford Modifieds into action. Contenders Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Shawna Ingraham of Brick, and recent winner Trevor Alspach of Willingboro and many others are expected to see action in the 40-lap feature race.

Sportsman racers will see action in a 30-lapper with recent winners Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Rob Hyer of South Amboy and Ken Matlach of New Hyde Park, N.Y. expected to lead the field.

Also in action on Saturday night will be the 4 Cylinder Stocks in twin 25-lap races, the Legend Cars and the Factory Stocks. In honor of Father’s Day a special 15-lap “Mechanic’s Race” will also be presented.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first qualifying event is then set for 6:00 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.

Action will then continue on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as the “Sunday Series” takes to the fifth mile “inner oval.”

The stock cars will then take June 21 off as the touring Formula Drift competitors take over the speedway for the only time all year. The Downs Ford Modifieds will then return on June 28 with the annual running of the rich and prestigious “Garden State Classic,” a 100-lap test offering $3,000 to the winner. Lap sponsorships for the event, in increments of $25, $50 and $100 with all of the money collected going to the racers, are available now at the speedway office.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
