WALL STADIUM MODIFIED STOCK CARS SET FOR $5000 TO WIN “SUMMER SIZZLER” 100-LAPPER SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Many of the most talented Downs Ford Modified stock car drivers in the area are expected to compete for an astounding $5,000 to win this Saturday night (Aug. 2) as Wall Stadium Speedway presents the “Summer Sizzler” 100-lap race. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying set to begin at 5:45 p.m. and main event action set for 7:15 p.m. Young fans in the grandstand will also have a chance to win one of two bicycles sponsored by Pennsylvania Modified driver Zane Zeiner and car-owner Jeff Willett.

In addition to Zeiner, invading drivers including Anthony Sesely of Matawan, Jonathan Mandato of Toms River, Renee Dupuis of Glastonbury, Ct. and Richie Cooper of Long Branch are expected to compete.

Among the field of the speedway’s regular Modified drivers expected to see action are recent Garden State Classic champion Trevor Alspach of Willingboro, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Zack Alspach of Willingboro, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham, Chas Okerson of Freehold, Steven Reed of Jackson and New Egypt’s Jason Hearne.

Also on the card will be the Legend Cars, Factory Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks with the 4 Cylinders also participating in “stock car bowling” events.

Modified teams are reminded that tires will be offered for sale on Friday afternoon between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. in addition to the regular time on Saturday.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying will start at 5:45 p.m. Main events for all divisions are scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

The speedway will also be busy on Sunday, as the “Small Car Series” will see action starting at 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, August 9, will also be a special night at the track, as all 5-time or more driving champions will be honored. Modified champions Gil Hearne, Tony Siscone, Chas Okerson and Dave Michel say they will be on hand. Also planning to attend are Street Stock champion Rich Mongeau and recent Sportsman champ Kevin Eyres. Two of the speedway’s late all-time champions, Parker Bohn and Ray Gastelu, will also be honored. In addition to meeting many of these great drivers, fans will get to see an original Dale Earnhardt, Sr. driven No. 3 that he drove during the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
