View Full Version : 10/07/14 - “War at the Shore” opens Wall post-season racing on Saturday (Oct. 11)

With the 2014 regular stock car racing season now complete and with the season long racing champions crowned, Wall Stadium opens a busy post-season of on track events this Saturday (Oct. 11). The “War at the Shore,” sponsored by Hamer Heating and Cooling, will see Flathead and Animal Karts take the spotlight with each division’s main event offering $1,000 to win. Microstocks will also be on the card with a $200 to win feature race.

The weekend’s action will kick off on Friday, October 10, with vehicle inspection and practice throughout the day. Then on Saturday, October 11, practice starts at 10:30 a.m. with qualifying set for 12:30 p.m. Grandstands will open at 1:00 p.m. with adult tickets just $10, student (age 7 to 17) tickets $5 and children six and under admitted free. In the event of rain of Saturday, all events will be run on Sunday (October 12) using the same schedule.

Next up will be the “Spooky Spectacular for the stock cars on Saturday, October 18. The Downs Ford Modifieds will lead the way in the “Haunted Hundred” which offers $5,000 to win, while the Sportsman cars will compete in the “Freakish 50,” the Factory Stocks will battle in the “Screeching 60,” the Legend Cars will compete in the “Blood Thirsty 30” and the TQ Midgets will race in the “Twisted 25.” The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will also be on hand.

On October 18 grandstands will open at noon with qualifying set for 12:30 p.m. and main events set to start around 2:00 p.m. In the event of foul weather a rain date of October 19 is in effect.

The traditional northeast season finale is next on the agenda on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend in November when the traditional “Turkey Derby” will be presented.
