After waiting out a bit of rain during the Saturday portion of Oktoberfest 2014 at Lee USA Speedway, racers from all over the region competed in 18 divisions of racing action at “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed”, closing out the year’s on-track action in style.

With so much racing on tap, track officials decided to schedule a handful of feature events for Saturday night, with the Vintage Outlaw Modifieds taking to the track first. Bill Bernard grabbed the feature win in that one, driving a replica of the famed George Savary Vega wagon-bodied mod.

More open-wheel action followed, with Robin Berghman outrunning Phil Lausier to score the Pro-4 Modified win. Andy Lindeman came out on top of the New England Truck Series main, “Slammin” Sammy Peabody took down the Hobby Stock/Strictly Stock “B” main, and Bob Murphy made it two straight Oktoberfest wins in the V6/V8 Enduro class.

Sunday’s action started with a hotly-contested 50-lapper for the Pro Stock/Super Late Models, with Jeremy Davis taking home the win by inches over Bryan Kruczek. Former Oktoberfest feature winner Derek Griffith, Dillon Moltz, and Jeff Fagan rounded out the top five.

Lee’s weekly Supermodifieds were next to go green, but a wild first-lap incident brought the field immediately under red flag conditions. When the action resumed, former champ Tommy Tombarello, Jr. easily took home the win, followed by Eddie Witkum, Jr. Lance Barthelemy, Kyle Sawyer, and Mike Spurling.

Twin State Speedway regular Kodi Sabins of Windsor, VT was the next driver to visit victory lane, picking up the win over a full 24-car field of 4-cylinders. Veteran Shawn Buffington joined the 2014 Oktoberfest winners list with a score in the Legends main.

Former Lee USA Late Model champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. dominated the action to grab the Late Model win over Glenn Martel and Keith Rocco, and Richard Savary triumphed in the 100-lap main event for the Valenti Modified Racing Series.

Adam Knowles held off 2014 champ Wayne Osborne to add another win to his 2014 tally in the Ironman main, and former champion Grant Aither returned to his old stomping grounds to score the Late Model Sportsman/Super Street win over Mike St. Pierre and Frank Wear.

Eric Skofield topped Jay McCann and Dan Poliquin for the Northeast Classic Lites win, with Poliquin awarded the 2014 division championship after the victory lane celebration. Former champ Mark Parenteau won the Hobby/Strictly main over Jim Shorey, Anthony Belfiore, Mike Williams, and Steve Douphinette.

The action-packed Mini/Roadrunner main went to Matt Gauffin, veteran driver Todd Ceravolo was victorious in the Lite Modifieds over Billy Kimball and Sumner Scott, Jimmy Ryder went to victory lane after beating out Jay Sands in the Star Outlaw main, and 2012 Oktoberfest winner Bryan Lancaster outclassed the field to win the Outlaw Mini Stocks.
