With so much attention gearing towards Octoberfast 2014, Mahoning Valley Speedway promoter Floyd Santee has decided to allow one more additional day of practice for teams to prepare for the Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26 season grand finale.

“Our phones have been ringing everyday about Octoberfast and teams are asking about practice. We really didn’t plan on another tune-up day but since the interest is there we will conduct one more day in order for racers to get ready for Octoberfast,” said Santee.

This coming Saturday, October 18 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., the track will have an open for practice for all classes with the exception of the USAC SpeedSTRs. The cost will be $35 per car. No other fees will be charged although anyone entering the pits will be asked to sign a waiver. The grandstands will be open free of charge, however the concession stand will be closed.

Race teams can also take advantage on Saturday as the final day to pre-register for Octoberfast 2014. It is $50 for Modifieds and $40 for Late Model, Street Stocks and Dirt Mods. Race day registration/entry fee will be $75 Modifieds, $60 Late Models, Street Stocks and Dirt Mods. There is no entry fee for Hobby Stocks.

Octoberfast 2014 is a two-day show that will close out the season of racing at the paved ¼-mile oval in Lehighton.

On Saturday October 25, the event scheduled will feature a 130-lap/$5000-to-win main for the Modifieds with $300 to take the green. The Street Stocks compete for 75 laps, $2000-to-win and $200 to take the green. $1500 will go the Late Model feature winner. That race is slated for 60 laps and $125 to start. The Hobby Stocks will go 40 laps and battle for a top prize of $500. Green money is $75.

The following day’s line-up will have the Dirt Mods racing for $3000 and $250 to start. The SpeedSTRs will vie for $3000 also. The race distance will be 45 laps.
