This past weekend a new web site dedicated to the legendary "Steady Eddie" Flemke was unveiled. It's a comprehensive look at the career of perhaps the best modified driver of all time. The website is completely non-commercial and is intended to perserve the story of the "Little Leadfoot" for generations to come. There are lots and lots of pictures, newspaper articles and anecdotes from fellow competitors and friends. Those with personal stories about Ed are welcome to contribute as well. Check it out at www.edflemke.com.

Absolutely an outstanding job to honor a true legend. Started through the photographs, and have taken a break around page 12. Have bookmarked it and will enjoy some more later. Great memories to this old soul.

Not sure who is behind this site but they have done a great job and have access to a great deal of information (results, articles and photos) - some of those photos I haven't seen or if I have, it was so long ago and they were from family photo albums.. there are 2 photos in particular that stand out for me..

B&W Photo at Thompson? (http://www.edflemke.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Screen-Shot-2014-11-23-at-15.59.53.png)

I think that’s at Thompson (Jeff, Doug and Jr.) that I can place.. it’s just a great b&w photo with the fog or mist.. now I could be mistaken, but this was the 10 v car that proved challenging throughout the 78’ season – it got bent and banged several times but sported some of the craftiest tin and arrow work of the day.. see below..

"Bad ass" looking modified.. (http://www.edflemke.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/FB-Christopher-Hawkins-10683544_1038496122832601_503518034628097323_o.jpg )

Kinda looks like a futuristic rocket sled as compared to the other “jalopies” in the photo..

The other car in 78’ (that won the 77’ 200 and 300 from that fall) – with the arrow tin and windshield at the 78’ Sizzler, obviously before the stuck throttle in turn 1..
At 78 Sizzler (on the back of the Steady Eddie book).. (http://www.edflemke.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/10-157023_1630570282484_5689264_n.jpg)

.. and one of my favorite photos ever – taken by Mike Adaskaveg..
.. stealing away the 300 and heading to the clubhouse.. (http://www.edflemke.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/1899812_10154550854405006_3134199370317949158_o.jp g)

Well done you mystery website builder..
