NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM HOLDS MEET & GREET WITH COMPETITORS

The Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway publicly introduced a new management team for the stock car program during a meet and greet with race teams on January 28 at the Dutch Mill Restaurant in Lancaster.

General Manger, Melissa McGowan, addressed the crowd of over 70 drivers, car owners and crew members to thank them for their interest and support of Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway. McGowan reaffirmed the priorities for the the speedway going forward. Those goals are to reunite the stock car and drag racing programs, to rebuild trust with the fans and drivers and to continue the tradition of the facility being an important part of the Western New York racing scene. She then introduced the management team that will help her in that quest.

John Nelson will be the Program and Race Director for the stock car program. Nelson has been involved with the sport for over 30 years as a crew member, official and previously served as race director. He has also worked with regional touring series, including the Race of Champions Modified Tour. Joe Skotnicki has been named Vice President of Strategy and Operations. Skotnicki brings with him a wealth of information after working with national and regional racing operations for over 20 years. He will assist McGowan in developing and rebuilding Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway. Skotnicki, a resident of nearby Elma, NY, has been attending the speedway since his youth

McGowan also introduced the remainder of the management team. Veteran track announcer, Dave Buchanan, will take on the role of Media Relations Manager. Mike Myers will continue to serve as Fire & Safety Team Manager. Both Buchanan and Myers grew up at the facility with parents that have worked there in the past. Kozak brings with him an experience selling sponsorship for and representing national and regional drag racing teams. They join Sharon Hughes who was previously named the Program and Race Director for the Friday night drag racing program.
