OLDEST RACING FAN CLUB IN U.S. TO CONTINUE SELLING 50/50 TICKETS TO SUPPLEMENT STOCK CAR POINTS FUND

For many years the Friends of Auto Racing (FOAR Score) Fan Club has had a presence at the Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway. The oldest racing fan club in the United States has served as the steward for stock car points fund, which is raised through 50/50 raffle ticket sales during race nights.

That presence will continue in 2015 as the new management of the Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has welcomed back the FOAR Score Fan Club as the official representative for 50/50 ticket sales.

FOAR Score will continue to sell 50/50 tickets on stock car race nights at Lancaster. Half of the money collected each week will go directly to the drivers point fund with the other half going to one lucky ticket holder. All of the tickets are sold by volunteers. Last season FOAR Score awarded $4700 to Lancaster drivers across three weekly divisions.

"FOAR Score and their 50/50 raffles is one of the many great traditions at Lancaster," said General Manager Melissa McGowan, "we are glad to have them back."

The FOAR Score Fan Club, formed in 1948, is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the betterment of auto racing. In addition to organizing 50/50 ticket sales, they also provide assistance to racers when they are sick or injured, and hold events to unite the racing community away from the track. FOAR Score holds a yearly awards banquet and holiday party every December to recognize the accomplishments of drivers from across the region.

"We enjoy giving back to the drivers whenever we can," said FOAR Score club president Paul Faleski, "they put on the show that we enjoy so much."

Many current and former members of the Lancaster racing community have been inducted in to the FOAR Score Hall of Fame, which honors individuals for their many years of success on the track or for their longtime support behind the scenes. The club's Hall of Fame trophy resides at the International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen, NY.

The 2015 stock car season at Lancaster is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 18 with a 75-lap event for the Race of Champions Modified Tour. The Seneca Resorts & Casinos Saturday Night Racing program begins on May 16.
