The Downs Ford Modified stock cars return to action this Saturday night at Wall Stadium Speedway with two 35-lap main events on “Proud to be American” night. Although the campaign is young the double points offered are sure to be critical in the race for the 2015 driving championship.

Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, qualifying is set for 6:00 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.

On the third mile high banked paved oval speedway early season Modified winners Eric Mauriello and Justin Gumley, both of Howell, and Jackson’s Steven Reed will all be looking to become the year’s first repeat winners while top runners Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Shawna Ingraham of Brick and defending title holder Chas Okerson are just a few of the others looking for their first checker flag of the season. Competition should be at an all-time high as the Modified division has experienced impressive fields during the early season.

The Green Monster Insulation 4 Cylinder Stocks are set for their first of three “Triple Crown” races with a distance of 35-laps. The O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models will also see action.

As a part of “Proud to be American” night and the Memorial Day weekend observance all veterans presenting proper identification will be admitted free of charge to the grandstand area as the speedway thanks those individuals for their service to our country. In addition members of the Toms River Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Toms River Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 and the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Company have been invited to the speedway as guests of Modified series sponsor Downs Ford. Fire trucks will be on display and one will display a huge American Flag.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is then set for 6:00 p.m. Main events for all divisions to follow.
