Five professional stock car racing divisions will headline NAPA Night/First Responders Night at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday evening (Aug. 8). Officials have announced that spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying will begin at 5:30 p.m. Once qualifying is complete main events for the Down Ford Modifieds, Snap-on Sportsman, O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and the Green Monster Insulation 4 Cylinder Stocks will begin.

The Modified cars are slated for a 40-lap feature race and will be led to action by recent “Summer Scorcher” winner Trevor Alspach of Willingboro. Other series regulars expected to see action include top drivers Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham, Jackson’s Steven Reed, Brick’s Ron Frees and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River. Also among expected entries are Adam LaCicero of Lavallette, 10-time track driving champ Chas Okerson of Freehold and Jason Hearne of New Egypt.

The Modifieds are not the only racers in Saturday night’s spotlight. The Sportsman cars are scheduled for a 30-lap main event while the 4 Cylinder Stocks have a rain postponed Triple Crown 35-lapper and a 25-lapper on tap. Legend Cars will race in a Triple Crown 35-lapper and the Factory Stocks will all see action in a 25-lap main event.

Long time racing supporter Bob Barker will be awarding an extra $50 to each division’s purse as well as presenting NYFD hats and shirts to feature race winners in recognition of First Responders Night. Area NAPA dealers, who will play an important role during the activities, will be awarding tools to all feature winners.

The Newark Pipe and Drum Corps will play on the front stretch during pre-race ceremonies.

In addition to the on track action the night will be special in the grandstand midway area for a couple of reasons. With Wall Stadium setting the evening aside to honor the area’s First Responders, all First Responders who arrive at the main entrance with proper identification will be admitted free of charge. Barker will be displaying his antique fire engine and the Aberdeen Fire Company plans on displaying one of their big rigs.

Also, a large contingent of local NAPA dealers is expected to be on hand to enjoy the night’s activities and all of the speedway’s NAPA backed race cars are expected to be on display in the grandstand mid-way early in the evening. The NAPA drivers will be signing autographs by their cars.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying starts at 5:30 p.m. with main events to follow.
