The biggest payout of the summer season at Wall Stadium Speedway promises to attract a talent laden field of Downs Ford Modified stock cars as the shore speedway presents the “Woody High Banks 105” this Saturday evening (August 22). Sponsored by Woody’s Roadside Tavern at 105 Academy Street in Farmingdale, the event offers an astounding $5,105 to the winner!

Officials have announced that qualifying will begin at 5:30 p.m. Once qualifying for the Modifieds, Snap-on Sportsman, O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Green Monster Insulation 4 Cylinder Stocks, TQ Midgets and the Sunday Series Champ Karts has been completed main event action will begin.

The 105-lap format, offering $5,105 to the winner, is attracting the attention of several racers in the Modified division. Invader Jimmy Blewett of Howell has said that he plans to compete while recent “Garden State Classic” champion Anthony Sesely of Matawan has also expressed interest in the big payday. Modified standout Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa. has also shown an interest in the big money race.

Series regulars expected to see action include “Summer Scorcher” winner Trevor Alspach of Willingboro and top drivers Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham, Jackson’s Steven Reed, Brick’s Ron Frees and recent winner Derek Hopkinson of Toms River. Also among expected local entries are Adam LaCicero of Lavallette, 10-time track driving champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, Zack Alspach of Willingboro and Jason Hearne of New Egypt.

The Modifieds are not the only racers in Saturday night’s spotlight. The Sportsman racers are set for a 30-lapper and the 4 Cylinder Stocks and the Factory Stocks will all see action in 25-lap main events. The ATQMRA TQ Midgets and the Champ Karts will battle on the fifth mile inner oval.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying starts at 5:30 p.m. with main events to follow.
